I understand completely. I've often thought about getting rid of cable, because I don't think I can afford it, these days. But, I've noticed that I watch so much on channels I can't get without it, that I decide it's worth it.

But, I might change to SBC Dish, sometime, soon. It's about half the price of cable. Just like the Internet side is half that of cable, I have my cake and eat it, too.

You know, there are things that happen...I was watching another channel on TV, then all of the sudden I remembered it was Hitchcock week. I quickly changed channels, to find I'd missed half of Vertigo.

But, I'd seen it before, so it wasn't the end of the world. Still, I wanted to see it, again. Then, when Psycho came on, I was in heaven. The music alone is wonderful. I don't think that movie would be the same, if not for that music.

I've seen it several times, and I saw something last night that I've never remembered seeing before. Norman (Anthony Perkins) was into taxederny. Why didn't I notice that, before? I always thought his mother was just a rotting corpse, but now I understand he had STUFFED her. It's amazing what you notice, even after seeing something several times.

But, it just wasn't to be, last night. I did see the shower scene, and was still on edge, even though I almost new the second it was going to happen. And when Hitchock panned up from Janet Leigh's eye, that was cool. And the music through out that whole scene...wow. Then, when Perkins was cleaning up the bathroom and putting Leigh's body in the trunk of her car, my electricity went out. BOOM! I was in total darkness, as well as the rest of the neighborhood. Talk about pissed!

By the time the electricity came back on, the movie was over. What shitty timing that was. I hate that they can turn your electricity off, your phone off, as well as other utilities, when ever they want to, and blame it on necessity to repair something. I think they should be required to notify you, in some way.

I have two computers and I used to have both on UPS systems. But, with money being tight, when they both needed work, I couldn't afford it. Now, when the electricity goes out, I cringe about what might happen to my computers. This time, my network router died. Well, it didn't die, but it's so far gone, I don't think it'w worth trusting it.

All of this is because the electricity went out, before I could correctly shut the computer down. And, during the summer, when thunder storms happen, and the electricity needs to be shut off to repair lines, etc., it just goes off. And, I know this winter, if it gets bad, I will be experiencing the same thing again, when ice damages power lines. They will just turn off the electricity, without notifying me that they are going to. That sucks.

Looks like I'm going to have to get my UPS systems fixed. Actually, it's well worth the stress it saves, at certain times of the year. A new router will be no more than $100, but that's $100 I wouldn't need to spend, if the UPS was working.

But, tonight, I will be watching Hitchcock. So, if you don't see me posting, from about 8:00 PM on, you'll know where I am. That is, unless the electricity goes out, again.

Let me guess DVS you are a fan perhaps?
A fan? I'm kind of obsessed, I guess. I remember when his TV show was on. I can remember him stepping into that prifile of his big stomach, with that great music playing. And, I remember how he always talked. He would always say..."Good Evening". It was like he had marbles in his mouth, his fleshy jowels, kind of like a bulldog. He was great.

I've seen a lot of his best movies more than once, but there are some I haven't seen. This week I'm going to get to see "Shadow of a Doubt" and "Jamaica Inn", if my electricity stays on. I haven't seen either of these. They are both pretty old. I haven't seen that many from those years. I think his cameos are special, too. He was an extra in a lot of his films, just for a few seconds, in most. Yep, I'd guess you could say I'm a fan.

Me too. I've been out of the loop forever it seems... I hadn't watched Sex and The City until a local station picked it up for re-runs.

I haven't ever seen even one segment of "The Sopranos", because it's on HBO. And, I haven't seen "Sex in the City" either, until, like you said, a local station started showing re-runs. Those were both on HBO, right? I can't afford those pay channels.

Ohhhhhhhhhh! I missed my Sex and the City when I moved into my apartment. I was so addicted to that show! I can't even get local stations down in my apartment cause the reception sucks so I have no tv at all...which is why I lurk on my computer so much. lol
