If anyone wants to play.....

You post a line or two of a Classic Rock song, and the person that guesses the song and artist gets to post a new song. Normally you allow 24 hours for a song to be guessed before posting a new one, but since this board moves so fast, I think one hour will do. I think it would be ok to have maybe three songs going at once, since there are so many songs and so many posters.:)

I'll start with one, a very easy one, and someone else can add 2, but lets not add anymore than that until one is guessed, OK?

Hope you enjoy the game.

Song One:

"Tried to give you consolation
When your old man had let you down
Like a fool, I fell in love with you
you turned my whole world upside down"

"Layla" By Eric Clapton

Technically, Derek and the Dominoes.

I've always gotten a kick out of this line:

I don't know if I'm up or down,
whether balck is white or blue is brown.
Colors in my life are all different somehow.
Little Boy Blue is a big girl now.

Ok, so the song was a little before my time. :)

I always enjoy listening to it though.

very good, mona and mbb....in the case of two posters guessing correctly at the same time, we will go with the first poster. Since we still need two more songs, Mona, please post another song, if you like?

Ok, here's another one:

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for

Woe oh oh oh oh oh

(I think this should be easy.)

Killing yourself to live - Black Sabbath

"People talkin' and they're sayin' that you're leavin'
You're so unhappy with the way that you've been livin'
We always wish for money, we always wish for fame
We think we have the answers..."

Well, yes, that does seem to happen sometimes.

But, you knew the main member, and his unplugged version beat the hell out of the original, IMO.

I'll have to listen to the original sometime mbb308.

Hey, 'Stairway to Heaven', I said it would be easy. :D

I'll try to be more obsure.

Here goes:

"On a dark desert highway
Cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas
Rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance
I saw a shimmering light "

At least the song title isn't incl. in this one. :D

The DVD version of Hell Freezes Over is a must have.

In the interest of saving time, if you post a song, please let us know when its guessed accurately. If you guess a song and you are absolutely certain you are correct, go ahead and post your lyrics for the next song. I think we need another, so here you go:

I gotta know tonight, if you're alone tonight
can't stop this feeling, can't stop this fire
Oh, I get........

Okay, now I've got the old vinyl out, and am jamming to some moldy oldies.

Well, not that old, some of it.

But, being as it's vinyl, it ain't that new, either.

Def Leppard - Hysteria

seesaw swingin' with the boys in the school
and your feet flyin' up in the air
singin' hey diddle diddle
with your kitty in the middle of the swing
like you didn't care

Yes!!

I'm sorry, my connection is sucking big time, so I think I'll opt out until it improves. Carry on...

Oh, thats "Walk this way" by Aerosmith.

Someone else can take my turn....

And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes
On you moving.
And if they shout
Don't let it change a thing
That you're doing.

New one

<For here, am I floating in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do>

Major Tom - David Bowie.
May I make my fond excuses
for the lateness of the hour?
But we accept your invitation
And we'll bring you Beltane's flower
