If you have the chance, see them!

It was a dream come true for me.

My new "favorite" song:

Clapton is one of my "heros", and I always enjoyed Steve Winwood, and together they were so wonderful.

I'm still pinching myself that I saw both of them!

Glad you and Oman had a great time. Hope the two of you can come up to Saturday In The Park.

I;m so happy you enjoyed the evening!
I'm so happy I got to share the experience with you!
I just don't understand why you didn't mention the third star there last night
That special someone clapton sings about

Darling:heart:

Its late in the evening
Shes wondering what clothes to wear
She puts on her make up
And brushes her long blonde hair
And then she asks me
Do I look alright
And I say yes, you look wonderful tonight:heart:

We go a party
And everyone turns to see
This beautiful lady
Thats walking around with me
And then she asks me
Do you feel alright
And I say yes, I feel wonderful tonight:heart:

I feel wonderful
Because I see the love light in your eyes
And the wonder of it all
Is that you just dont realize
How much I love you:heart:

Its time to go home now
And Ive got an aching head
So I give her the car keys
She helps me to bed
And then I tell her
As I turn out the light
I say my darling, you were wonderful tonight
Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight

I'm not much of a fan of either one. however, I do know how it feels to finally get to see one of your musical "heroes". it's magical, and everyone should get to experience it at least once. I'm happy for you. :)

Thank you

Music has always been an important ingredient in my life. Seeing Clapton was equivalent to seeing the Beatles for me!:):rose:

I've been fortunate enough to see both Clapton and Winwood, but not together. It must have been quite a treat. That's a show I would love to see.

Jenny...

I know how you feel...I have been fortunate enough to see them twice since Feb. 09 (Madison Square Garden)...I also have had the pleasure of seeing both artists since they were very young men...Blind Faith was awesome...and the legacy of Cream is etched in Rock history...Traffic is my favorite band of all time...and I witnessed the Yardbirds, Bonnie & Delaney, and both Winwood & Clapton in solo performances in my lifetime...I worked concert venues in NJ and NY for about a decade and have seen so many awesome shows and performers but Winwood & Clapton together at this stage in their lives, as well as mine, is the only show I have ever seen that made me cry...I know how you feel...and I shared the Feb show with my youngest son (who I rarely get to see and is quite the guitar player himself)...for you and Oman...I know your joy...your love...and now I feel I have shared something special with you and Oman...:rose:...and it feels GREAT! I wish I could see your smiles...:)

Thank you for sharing

You worded your sentiments so perfectly.:rose:

I spent the entire show with my eyes glistening with "happy" tears that we all made it though all these years! It was evident that each person performing was doing it with much happiness and appreciation.

Oman and I remarked how wonderful it must be for the folks we saw sharing the event with their children. So happy to hear your son was with you.

I grew up seeing many, many concerts too, but always missed out on Clapton. Like I keep saying, it was a dream come true.:rose:

There's concert footage of their performance at Madison Square Garden that PBS was showing. I missed it here, but it will likely be repeated (maybe during pledge time).

I'm STILL humming the music and enjoying the experience days later!:)

I saw them together last summer at MSG. It was a phenomenal show. Just my opinion, they're both better now than they were when they were young. Clapton has always been my favorite.
One of the great things about the MSG show was there was no intermission, they each did a solo while the other took a break, then continued to play.
Winwood did a rendition of "Georgia" that was incredible.

Congratulations you two! Another check mark on the bucket list!!!! :D

Mine was Yes.... 35 years after the first time I'd seen them! So many memories flooded my mind. Close your eyes and decades old events were fresh as if they'd just happened. It's amazing how much you can remember when the appropriate triggers are pulled. What I was doing when I first heard this song or that. Magical.
