Am I the only one who is disturbed by claire2010's rape fantasies?

Her character Erica is an eighteen year old who is repeatedly used and abused by every man she meets, including her father. The men she meets are so taken with her that they cannot control their lust, and have no qualms about doing whatever they want with her, no matter how much she protests.

In her latest story Erica and the Private Detective, she is raped yet again. In spite of her protestations, he ends up coming in her vagina. I think this is ugly in the extreme.

One of my main concerns is that she is using what for women is a very traumatic experience to specifically arouse the reader. and feed what are possibly very dangerous and misogynistic fantasies.

Please let me know what you think.

There's a reason there's a nonconsent category on this site. If it's not something you like, don't visit the stories.

For some people, these urges are real and, hey, if they get their kicks out online via these stories as opposed to doing it in the real world, then isn't that better?

Personally, it's not my cup of tea but I can understand why some would feel it's sexy. If you don't like it, don't read.

Well it's not like you have to read it, you have the free will to say "No, I don't like rape fantasy." So there you go if you don't read it, it won't bother you.

Claire2010: was i too hasty?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. While I still regard rape as a horrendous act, maybe there is a place for it on Lit after all. My comments on Claire201's stories may been too hasty and too harsh. As you say, if I don't like them, I don't have to read them.

In my defense, I would like to say that I love her father-daughter audio stories and think they are superb. Her Erica stories, while personally distressing, are very well-written. It's a tribute to her talent that I care about the character and what happens to her.

I've always thought I had a pretty open mind, but your comments have helped me realise I still have a way to go.

Back off Claire2010!!!

I love everything Claire writes!! She is the SOLE REASON I joined "Lit". The audio stories are what I like best and in them she often uses the word "rape" when she is decribing sex with her Dad. I only wish she would take it a step further and make it a "FULL BLOWN" rape story!! Perhaps you would be better off at the library reading Romeo and Juliet!!

I agree with Clairesdaddy, Her stories are tremendous and the only reason I signed onto this forum.
I only hope she is actually who she says she is (20-something Australian lady) and not some stammering nerd from Cleveland tapping away on his laptop during his luch hour!

So people aren't allowed to dislike the direction and tone of this claire's nonconsent work and express that dislike in a relatively decent fashion? Wow, aren't we just the smut gestapo today.

rape fantasy v actual rape

i think the question of whether claire's rape fantasy stories are good or bad is a little like mental masturbation...not that i have anything against masturbation!!

there is fantasy and there is actual rape and abuse... fantasy let's our minds wander where ever it wants to go...it can't be good or bad...it just is...good thoughts...bad thoughts? there's just thoughts...no one is hurt or abused...and certainly no one is raped...it's all pretend...erica is not real no matter how much we love the character and i do love the character and all of claire's stories.

let's all relax and have a fun time while we're still vertical and breathing...if you like the stories, read them...if you don't, then don't...let's not chain our authors and bind them to our ideas of what's "good" erotica and what is "bad" erotica...

and remember guys---"No!" still means "No!"

Women's favorite fantasies

Following my original (and regretted) post, I did some research into women's rape fantasies and learned a whole bunch of fascinating stuff. If you Google "top 10 women's sexual fantasies" and check the more reputable sites, you'll find it's very high on the list. In fact it's first on one of them! The Psychology Today site has some good articles on sexual fantasies in general and women's rape fantasies in particular.

Re this thread, if I want to raise any issues in future, I'll be sure to do it in a general way and not pick on any particular author. Post in haste, repent at leisure.

Cheers,
SwiverGuy
