"Councilmember Jan Perry introduced legislation this week that would call upon media companies to ensure “on-air hosts do not use and promote racist and sexist slurs” on radio and other broadcasts."
Naturally, they get to decide what constitutes a racist or sexist slur, and to whom the law will apply. A black calling a white a name won't be punished, nor will a black calling another black the N word. Bill Maher will not be punished, only Rush Limbaugh.
I guess the airwaves of LA will get awfully quiet if this passes.
