Jackal sprinted through the streets of King's Row. He'd recieved word that The Lost were on the move again in the district and he was determined to be there to keep them from causing any more harm. He whizzed by several other costume-clad heroes on the way as he zipped to his destination. To most people he passed, he must have been quite a sight. A very Bohemian-looking Gypsy with knives dashing by with a cocky grin at the speed of a car.
As he came to a corner, Jack leaped up. He dug one foot into the base as an anchor and grabbed the post with one hand loosely, allowing his momentum to naturally swing him ninety degrees. He let go as soon as the turn was finished and hit the ground running. The smell of dust and smoke grew heavier, meaning he was getting closer to the neighborhood he was looking for. The Lost seemed to focus most of their activities on the south end of Kings Row, possibly because it was easier to scrounge for raw materials there.
He skidded to a hault at another street corner and looked up at the sky. The sun would be down in another hour. Much as he loved Paragon City's nightlife, he didn't have any powers to see in the dark, so he needed to see about mopping these slime up while he could still get a good look at them. Setting off in a light jog, Jack began his patrol of the area.
He didn't have to go far before he saw a quartet of Lost smashing a car. Three of them were only mildly deformed, but had the hodgepodge clothes, make-up, and scars that passed for uniforms among these... things. The other one was one of the hulking lieutenants. A large blade with a handslot at one end was slung over its back and it wore street and "ONE WAY" signs as armor for its bulky, muscular arms. The lieutenant was holding the front of the car, restraining it, and the screams from inside told Jack that innocent people were in there. He'd arrived just in time.
"Yo!" he shouted to the creatures. Two of them only looked up at him. He drew his katars and rushed forward. "Let's dance!"
Jack knew right from the start that he had the mobility card. He nimbly danced out of the way of a knife blade from the first Lost that was wearing a "STOP" sign for a breastplate. He parried the blade with his right hand he circled to the man's side, then with his left leg kicked his opponent once in the lower back, then the ass, then the hollow of the knee, bringing him down quickly.
He hopped up on the car's trunk to prepare his next attack, but jumped out of the way when the other two attacked him baseball bats. By an odd coincidence, the strike of the bats and Jack's boots created a familiar beat that caused his eyes to light up. He sheathed his katars and backflipped off the hood of the car just as the lieutenant made a swing with his blade, easily evading the strike. He did several successive backflips to put some distance between himself and his opponents.
When he stopped, he stomped twice and clapped. And again... again. Even as the Lost advanced cautiously, not sure what to make of his behaviour. Then he started singing. "Buddy you're a boy, make a big noise, playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday! You got mud on your face, you big disgrace, kickin' your can all over the place!"
