Circus of desires - OOC

If anyone is interested in joining I'm about to start a thread about a travelling circus. The circus is travelling across europe and is one of the most well know circuses in europe with predominantly human performers but a few animals too.

I will play Alfonso the great, magician and human canonball, only 25 years old but dresses as if he is much older to give an aura of experience.

Other characters could be -

The Ringmaster/mistress or both - who is now played by ariosto

The Circus Owner and family - in charge of the circus

The Trapeze artists - young, supple & lively - Got one trapezer Papillon24, & Third Magus makes two, there can be more or not.

The Clowns - amusing and clumsy

The Animal trainer - played by poohlive

Knife thrower and beautiful assistant - serious, daring and dangerous. Played by Nightray and Honey B.

The Runaway - picked up at the last stop and disguised as a young boy when she is in fact a young girl. - Claimed by Maid of Marvels

Any amount of jugglers, dancers, roadies etc

Basically any kind of other character than I haven't thought of.

I thought the thread could begin in Prague, just before the final show in Czechoslovakia, the morning after it will move on to Germany and Berlin. I've been asked a couple of times about a time period. I thought around a year before the fall of the Berlin wall, which gives many possible tangents when the circus moves on to Berlin after the final show in Prague.

So go on.....If you always wanted to run off with the circus, join the circus of desires. PM me if you're interested and I'll revise this post to show you've claimed whatever part your heart desires.

My bio

Mia Lin(Trapeze artist)

Ran away to get away from her poverish life back at home with her family who had imigrated from south east asia a few years before. Her family had been circus folk back in her native country so it was only natural for her to join one here.

Long hair to her waist and about 5'8". at home she was a freak for being so tall. Her silverish eyes can peirce through anyone she looks through but can easily be cosealed. She is very thin and from the years of being so poor.

Nick Webster:

Young man, generally with a lazy smile. Short, stubbly brown hair, brown eyes and a lithe, agile body. There's the tattoo of a rose climbing up his left cheek. He's a European mongrel, of vaguely Central European/ English blending, brought up in Vienna.

Although he's young, Nick has been around a bit, and has many leftwing, bohemian artist and author friends in the various towns the circus visits

Name; Ramon
Age: 25
Look: His six foot even dark depthless eyes that one could droned in raven black hair. He’s well muscled but not overly so he can stretch almost as well as a contoshenest but not good enough to be one even if he wanted to.

Ramon is a quite man who doesn’t talk much about his past he came from the US and looks to be a mix of German and American indeon. He always seems to have a knife in his hand twirling it between his nuckials or idly tossing it at random things practicing his aim. He can throw around his lushes assistant blind folded with out so much as scratching her. He cuts lit cigarettes in half while she is smoking it, among other daring feats and when he’s not doing that his juggling torches and eating fire for the kids. He’s loyal to the circus and is all ways willing to fill in where needed even panting up as a clown though he doesn’t like that and avoids it as much as passable. He’s also very good in the marshelartest and tends to be the first in to a fight to ether break it up or to help a fellow performer from an unruly audience.

Two reasons, I've always wanted to work with you, nightray. Something about that sinister AV of yours, I guess. And, I've got a knife fetish that would make this a thrill. Something of an assistant who wishes Ramon wasn't always so careful.

OK Here's my Bio -

Alfie Brown AKA The Great Alfonso.

Alfie is 25 years old but has been with the circus for twelve years since he ran away from his alcoholic parents. Born and raised in industrial North West England Alfie prefers not to remember his upbringing but would rather enjoy memories of his travels with the circus. He is now fluent in many languages and is well respected in the circus. Only the ringmaster and a couple of the clowns have been around longer than Alfie and he is quick to help out any newcomers to the business. He remembers vividly what it was like starting out when an old lady magician and cannonball man took him under their wing. This is how he started in his trade, which he has made his own.

As Alfie he is quite good looking if a little short at five foot seven. Sandy brown hair and blue eyes with a cheeky grin and dirty face no-one would guess he was the man he is in the ring.

As The Great Alfonso he wears a greying dark haired wig and silver handlebar moustache. He quite often wears platform shoes to give himself extra height and to further enforce his appearance of the experienced performer. His two personas are so dissimilar that he can walk through the crowds straight after coming out of a performance and no member of the public will recognise him. Even some of the newer circus performers aren't sure if he is two different people.

Ok that's me, if everyone who hasn't yet, can post their bio's I'll try to start the main thread tomorrow or Thursday. Still plenty of room for clowns, owners and a really good ringmaster/mistress. We'll get up and running shortly.

Baer 34
Scraggly beard, heavy set man with thick muscles and an even thicker accent. Scandinavian, perhaps, no one knows for sure.
He takes care of most of the animals. The elephants, horses, lions, zebra's.
Most of the time is spent with that, and putting forth some spectcular acts with all of them. His lion taming act can only be surmounted by his bear wrestling routine.
Has a few missing teeth, and some scraggly scars running up and down his arms, but what do you expect... he's not exactling playing with fleas ladies and gentlemen.

Jasmiina Hhenke

Thank so much, guys! I am so excited. Here's my character:

Born in Iceland twenty years ago, Jasmiina has not been with either the circus or Ramon long. It was the icy blue eyes and waist length, white-blonde hair that caused the knife-thrower to hire her in an instant. That and her long legs which look spectacular whenever she's tied up spread-eagle in the circus ring. Jasmiina is tall, reaching the height of her boss when she wears the high heels of her costume.

Nothing has yet happened between the knife-thrower and his assistant, but Jasmiina want it to. Wants him. Everytime he picks up a blade, her pulse quickens. For her pleasure and pain become one when they meet at the edge of a steel blade.

Warning - the animals are just for background, please keep your hands and minds off. Wouldn't want to upset anyone.

I was born Heinrich Gerden 32 years ago in Koenigsburg but grew up in New Haven Connecticut with Harold as my moniker.
Tool off when I was 15 and worked in 'carnies' up and down the east coast in the pre war years, usually as a freak show or hoochie coochie girl barker. I was slkinny and small, dark hair and skin from a Portugeese mother and a deep basso voice from my alcoholic father...Bless him, it was the only useful thing he gave me.

Drafted in 42, I managed to stay out of trouble just long enough to make Anzio and the Italian campaign. We liberated Rome in June of 44 and I liberated myself. Shacked up with a whore named Maria Salvia who had a John with a small traveling circus.
A crash course in Italian, a name change (thanks Maria) and I was on my way. Never looked back. Fuck the Army, Fuck the US of A.
The war ended and I bid so long to the Eyetalians and headed north to tap into GI occupation bucks. I ran into Hugo in Strasbourg and after seeing his show (with one pathetic excuse for a ringmaster) I decided to offer my services. Being able to speak, English, German, Portugeese, Italian and some French and Spanish with a voice like Gods was the clincher, so I been the Ringmaster ever since.
