IMO, it is because it isn't necessary. it is a convenience for hygiene reasons. I am circumsized, guys who are uncut and ladies who have had both can give you a better opinion

i'm not really asking about the aesthetics. i know the cultural heritage of male circumcision is different from female circumcision, but i think both are a form of mutilation.

i have nothing against either type, i just wouldn't want that done to my son.

I seem to recall there are some health benefits, besides hygeine. Something about a recuced rate of cervical cancer for their partners?

I know I've never missed mine. (I didn't have it long enough to get really attached.)

If I still had one, and had the choice, I'd get it doen.

Would you wolfie?

Boy...tough question. I'm not sure about letting anybody take a sharp instrument to my little friend. :D

But yes, I probably would.

It's mutilation only in the strictest sense of the word, then again, so is piercing and tattooing and they're okay.

I think about it sometimes. It "looked painful" so I am not cut, unlike my siblings.

For Circumcision:
Healthy. Easy to clean. More "Normal" for Americans. No circumsized-at-birth males remember it. A lot scarier if decision is made later in life where circumcision will be remembered. Less painfully sensitive.

For Leaving the penis alone:
Can't get it back if you want it (I'm not going into those who have tried to re-grow it). Can always cut it if uncut. I think my pee stream would be a lot more misdirected if I the Man didn't have his cap. More "sensitive" (maybe).

This is about even. What it comes down to is "Do women think it's okay?" All over TV, women are disgusted with the idea of an uncircumsized male. I have had one woman play with Him. She said didn't mind.

So until I have more sexual experiences, I am not going to condemn those who do, or applaud those who don't.

Nope. I think an uncircimsized is weird. I watched this porno, where this guy had an uncircumsized penis. It looked too funny.

Then why do women keep laughing at my penis?

Never mind, I don't want to know.

Quit bragging...you never saw it. I dropped out of T or D before it was my turn to go into the bathroom with you. :D

And thanks...Lady D gave it to me.

Well, I'm circumcised. I don't remember it happening as I was just a li'l baby. I have no lingering pain. As far as I can tell, it works just great. ;) And, judging by the oohs and ahhs I've received upon revealing it, it's considered nice looking. :D Personally, I feel all the guys who get all worked up about having been circumcised are just plain being silly. That being said, I'm not sure whether I'll have the future son o' mine circumcised or not.

Damn...not one ooh or ahhh. But somehow I suspect it's not the lack of a foreskin that's behind it.

I'm not, and i've never had any problems...come to think of it, neither have any of the girls i've been with:D

Can't laugh at that which you've never seen...Now if you were to show me a pic of YOUR penis...we could see if I crack a smile.

I am strongly against it. Unfortunately, I came to this conclusion too late for my son, and I feel bad about doing it to him. I really do.

I'm with you...

I am because I'm Catholic and it's a normal ritual thingee...

When they did my six year old, I had to go to a seperate floor of the hospital... I just knew when I heard him scream that I was gonna smack that doctor around a bit... his mother wanted him to look like his half brother.

Mecha, because it's completely unnecessary. It's not the norm the world over and wasn't even routine in this country until, I think, the 30s or 40s. People are at the point where they just do it without giving it real thought, in my opinion.

The cleanliness issue is ridiculous and insulting when you think about it. Men aren't smart enough to figure out how to pull the foreskin back and wash? Please.

The rates of penile cancer in intact men is slightly higher, yes, but the chances of getting it are still pretty rare. Breast cancer is far more prevalent, but nobody suggests giving baby girls radical mastectomies at birth to prevent it.
