Damn dude, the old interactive stories section was sooooo much better. If anything all the old stories should have stay and chyoo could have been added, not many people would have gone to it, but you'd still have the BETTER stories section that there was bfore chyoo!

As we said in other posts, the previous Interactive stories were removed because of our inability to keep up with the users who insisted on trying to ruin the stories by posting BS - including underage material despite the rather large warning to not do so on the front. We gave it a good year, hoping that these people would stop doing so, but they didn't. We had no choice but to go to another format.

The beauty of Chyoo is that each story is moderated, and therefore in theory there is someone who cares, and has the authority to make sure each story maintains a certain level of quality. If a thread goes awry, the moderator is responsible for it.

It would be great if you could tell us specifically what could be improved. It's a site in progress, so your feedback will decide which direction it will go.

A few thing sto improve then

Allow stories to be instantly uploaded and then judged for improper material, and make a very easy way for users to report stories that have underage sex or other things that are not approved.

also if not as he mentioned u can make ur own topics....but i shuld say yes the old ones were better in "length" andall but still this could be better in the long run

I think the old story section sucked, mainly due to a lack of moderation, which is what Chyoo has. I have a story here myself, and if I show you all the entries I've rejected, even though unwillingly, you'd know what I mean.

Well, I haven't been around long enough to know how things used to be, but from the perspective of a new point of view, I have very few complaints.

Yep Chyoo does suck

I agree with the user above who said you should allow additions to be instantly uploaded. If moderation is your desire, then you could allow the story creator to edit or delete them later, but having to wait... sometimes days or longer for your writing to be added or to even find out if it will be added? ... well that sucks. And that ruins the entire concept here because most of us just aren't that patient and it totally inhibits any sort of creative flow or true interactivity. The upshot is your site DOES suck. The problem is huge... but not hopeless.

how about that

To have (again) the possibility of instant uploading would indeed be great. How about allowing it that way: The editor, when reviewing a thread and thinking it´s cool, can give to the writer the status of "trusted contributor". As such, the writer can, for this story or all stories of this editor, upload threads immediately. The editor still sees them for review and can, if he thinks they are inferior, throw them out and/or withdraw the trusted status of the writer.
I think this should be no problem, since also an editor receives the right to upload immediately to his own story after review of only the introduction thread by the site moderators. The gain in interactivity would really be great.

Best regards and have fun,
marmot

Chyoo is much better!

I like the wa it is currently formatted! While the arguments posted have merit; the possibility of allowing instant uploads could be allowed if you could ultimately give the moderator/author the ability to delete or change threads at any point.

The only other aspect I miss from the previous method is the story outline, which allowed you to go to a specific thread immediately.

I like Chyoo

It took me a little while but "yes" I do like it though I have learnt a lot since creating two stories threads. That is, I should be more rigorous when moderating it. Well, live and learn as they say.

Trust

Trust is earned over time. It can't come instantly.
So how could there be any trust in instantly posting threads.
Can you imagine how bland it would be if the moderators allowed instant posting and someday somebody posted something that got them all sued or arrested?
It would be a long time before (or if) they felt secure enough to set up a site like this again.
In the meantime we would have allowed impatient people to ruin a promising outlet for creative expression.
It's fine by me if we keep the current policies.
I'd rather wait for a few days to see if my post is accepted than to find out someday after logging on that the site owners have been shut down and are gone forever.

But forum threads are not moderated!

My vote is also that approval is too slow.

I have only been waiting 3 days for any of my threads to be looked at. Apparently that is a short time to wait.

Is there a subtle difference between forums and interactive stories legally?

Personally I am happy with the idea of deleting, or perhaps locking a thread until someone volunteers to fix it.

Alternatively, couldn't there be some way of beefing up the numbers of moderators? (the story starter could click a check box allowing any from a pool to moderate it ,or something like that.)

meant to add a reply but clicked thread

I had something in reply to this thread but accidentally clicked creat new thread. If you want to see me reply go to the thread "Changes?".

It was changed because some people were posting disgusting threads about everyone dying, and ruining them. Some other threads were like "they sex you now in what hole?" So, CHYOO is much better. But, one problem is that the 'accept thread' button is automatically clicked on. I accidentally accepted a BS thread. That pissed me off, and for 20 minutes or so i was seeing if there was any way i could fix it. But, no, there isn't any way. I don't think it should be automatically selected. And if you want length, then get the authors that are busy making and adding to thier own stories to go out and add to the stories that are struggling in length. If one story is all written by the same author, you don't see much diversity in thinking. P.S. Add to my stories too! Insuance Salesman's wild ride, under Fan Fiction can be made into anything, and all sexual subjects are acceptable. Also, go to An XXX Movie under incest. (Shameless self advertising is a necessity.)

there's a reason why you think chyoo sux

I like CHYOO.
That being said I can understand why others think CHYOO sux.
I have endured a rather rude response from an author when I tried to add to his story. I've seen some rather rude and obnoxious additions to stories and I have wished the original author had spent more time refusing the submittal. I could understand why the author treated me the way he did, but it still didn't feel very good to endure it.
So, with obnoxious entries and exasperated authors it is no wonder there is so much contention between authors and readers.
The reason you think CHYOO sux might be because you helped push it there.
So in order to improve CHYOO maybe it might be a good idea to read the rules a little closer and be a little less obnoxious in your submittals. And authors, maybe you should not be so rude to prospective submitters.
If anyone has a problem with CHYOO I suggest they look in a mirror first.

chyoo is a pile of CRAP
i was looking forward to a brilliant new, sparkling site but the upshot of this new site is the layout is all wrong. i dont have time at mo to type everything i want to say but i will at some point, dont you worry!

things have been moving rather slowly here....wonder if the mods are still around? maybe drop a note to let us know we're still talking to someone around here....thanx...

chyoo sux

I kind of like it. I'm eager to get my story up but I think the whole thing is fine -- it just needs more stories and categories. I do want my story up, but besides that chyoo is good. So fix, don't bitch fellow deviants!!!

Well...it was my contention when Chyoo first started that it would gain some popularity eventually and then, perhaps, I'd like it and register. However, I have found that this isn't so. Truthfully, one of my favorite stories on the old format was the sorceror / knight in that one country and I was very disappointed when it was removed. Sure, it had some BS posting in it...but why didn't we set up 3 moderators or something for it to just reveiw the posts? It sucked bigtime to go 30 pages then run ito a deadend ending with "And so, Polaris the Knight stuck his dick up the dragon's ass while blowing his brother Johnny...etc...etc" or even worse "What are you, some kinda sicko, bitch!".

However...if anyone looks, the vast majority of threads on Chyoo have far far the max-length-threads of 10. Comparing it to the old way of 100s of posts in a story, this seems, to me, to be a failure...even if underage sex is better controlled.

I'm new. I never saw the old system. I can't imagine an uncontrolled submission process working at all. If it comes down to a debate between quantity and quality - then quality will always get my vote.

The additions to the stories seems to be slightly slow, yes, and it's hard to quickly access those new additions to the stories (I've emailed Chyoo with my suggestions) but I expect things to open up as the next wave of new stories are approved. In my time here I've seen increased activity nearly every day.
