CHYOO Business Model

I am kind of confused what the business model for CHYOO is... how does it make money??

I know when CHYOO suffered that minor downfall a few years ago, I strongly considered coding up a adult story choose your own adventure site... but couldn't think of how to offset the webhosting charges.

If it makes no money, we should be thankfull that it even exists.

Normally it would be supplemented by advertising. You'd get other porn sites to advertise upon your site. Say in the case of Chyoo when you pull up say, the BDSM stories, an ad would flash across the top advertising a BDSM site [perhaps a store for the toys, or a site that has movies in that taste]. That would be essentially how to get the money. But you have to have a good amount of traffic to entice sites into advertising with you. Usually you can get them to post an ad though, that will pay you depending on how many users click onto the ad on your site.

If I remember correctly, there's a lot of advertisement on the Literotica site, isn't it likely that Chyoo is financed with the money generated from that?

Originally there was advertising on the CHYOO site. But after the CHYOO 2 revamp nothing... my guess is that the same people responsible for coding the site just never got around to adding it like they never got around to adding a bunch of features. However, I seriously don't think that CHYOO costs all that much to operate given its rather small fan base. I'm sure that if it became a bandwidth hog it would be shut down or, more likely, advertising would be added and the site would be finished. Honestly, I think that the lack of people visting CHYOO has ultimately been its downfall, perhaps its because so few people actually know of its existence.

It surprizes me sometimes when I think how many people dont know of this sites existence, as far as I can tell its the ONLY free "interactive erotic story" site on the web ( barring a couple of sites that had one or two stories then wanted money etc ) if your looking for erotic stories on the web I figured it would only be a matter of time before chyoo would come up in your searches...Same as "audio porn"
