Is anyone else experiencing Christmas package shipping/delivery delays?

Amazon is still reliable, but the post office has been hit or miss....I mailed a package (with tracking) to California from Texas and it got there in three days, but a small package mailed to me from California (again, with tracking) seems to be sitting in a Los Angeles post office since December 8.

Maybe the package decided not to travel for Christmas? Don't want to catch or spread Covid ya know.

All my shipping (incoming and outbound) has been delivered early this year.

Mom sent the family heirloom ornaments via USPS priority. She mailed them on Tuesday, they got here on Thursday. Granted that wasn't last week but the week before.

Target used both FedEx and USPS. USPS beat FedEx.

My phone accessory stuff from Amazon arrived yesterday - early.

UPS is supposed to deliver my phone tomorrow. Motorolla said it would arrive by Wednesday.

So far, so good. *crosses fingers*

I just got a notification from USPS that my package is being delivered a day early from N.C. to me in SoCal. Amazon has been money.

You have to figure there will be delays with recent snow in the Northeast and everyone and their brother ordering stuff online.

We’ve been fortunate..

As of yesterday I’ve gotten everything I ordered for everyone. However gifts going directly to my brother and his wife have been delayed. I just checked an the tracking says they’ll receive them on 12/28 better late then never..

I ordered some nightgowns for my sister and they sat in the same location in my state for 10 days!

Had one package show up, but tracking for it still said at carrier depot; for 4 days after it showed up.

No issue with online orders but I haven’t received a single piece of mail in a week.

I placed an order with Amazon US on 28 November and the projected delivery date to Oz is 20th January.

On the other hand Amazon JP(Japan) is greased lightning, 1 to 2 days for local deliveries and 5 to 7 days to OZ.

Post is variable from UK to OZ, 6 days to 6 weeks. USA postage to Oz is slow at the moment, 3 weeks + seems to be normal.

UPS and FedEx have stopped accepting packages from some shippers and limited the amount per day from many others. The overload is going to USPS.

Yes, the image is large, but it explains the problem better than words.

It's weird. I ordered domestic stuff that has been hung up for over a week with FedEx and USPS, but then I ordered parts for my backhoe from New Delhi in India, and DHL delivered them within a few days of the order.

Maybe DHL has been handling less traffic.

That Amazon box is mine, I think.

To use Rainblow's descriptor for this holiday season, "Xmess".

US Postal delays have been in the news for months, (TV, newspapers, internet, radio), even starting with the mail in voting that was taking place in October & November. Considering this is December, why are you surprised?

Why didn't you give attribution to the line you stole in its entirety from Salon in your signature?

Have you ever had an actual original thought or do you simply borrow ideas from other people and pass them off as your own?

My phone arrived today. On time. Early even as the website indicated the 23rd when I ordered it.

^ Looks like somebody's not getting visitation this year. :(
