Christmas for the troops

I'm just passing this along Even if you don't agree with the war, you must admit that the holidays will be hard for our service men and women who are away from home. Please consider participating in Operation Sandbox.

You all know that Christmas is coming up fast! There will still be many thousands of soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Korea and Kosovo for this holiday.

Operation Sandbox is announcing the start of Christmas Card Drive.

http://www.operationsandbox.com

We are collecting Christmas cards for our troops will continue through November 30, 2004. The cards will then be packed and shipped to soldiers serving in any of the above mentioned countries for Christmas Day.

Here are the requirements for cards being sent to soldiers:

1. Purchase your cards as soon as they are available. The earlier we ship them the better.

2. Sign the cards and put them in the envelopes. You are permitted and even encouraged to include your return address so the soldiers may write back if they have time and would like to do so. You may even include a short note to let them know how much we appreciate their service to our country.

3. Place all the cards in one big envelope and mail them to Operation Sandbox .

4. If you would like your cards sent individually to a soldier you must put a stamp on the envelope. Postage costs for this type of project are very high and we do not have the funds to ship each card separately. If postage is not on the envelope the card will be
shipped in one of the boxes for general distribution. All cards with the postage on the envelope will get an address label placed on it and it will be sent directly to a soldier.

With the help of all of you grateful citizens we know that we can keep the spirits of our troops high and let them know that we are thinking about them every day.

Our mailing address is:

Operation Sandbox
PO Box 163
Sarahsville Ohio 43779

This is a great opportunity for schools, youth groups and businesses to show their support as well as the general public.

Thank you all for supporting our troops!

We are also accepting donations for items to fill stockings and send as gifts

I just today heard that the number of un addressed letters has become so overwhelming that they are having to distroy alot of them. I'm trying to locate a mailing list or something like that where we can get individual soldiers names and an address to wright them. I'll let ya know if I find one.
