As you know I am doing the whole chirstams alone thing but i can't decide what to eat for christmas dinner. The choice comes down to a few choices:

1> Turkey Flavored vegitarian hotdogs. with real hotdogs buns instead bread folded around them and hienz ketchup as opposed to my usuall el cheapo storebrand ketchup.

2> Home made friend pizza sandwiches.

3> Purple cabage dipped in coleslaw dressing with grated carrots and onion aka beggars dipping coleslaw

4> Frozen chicken pot pie

I cannot make up my mind, please help.

Okay, I'll bite. WHY are you alone on Christmas? If not family, what happened to all the volunteer work you do- why not spend it with one of those groups with people that know you and love you? Christmas isn't meant to be spent alone, it just isn't!

i'll try and itemize it best I can

1. Your correct christmas is a family time.

2. the people i work with are acquanitences not my family.

3. 1 & 2 being true I do no intrude on an acquaintences famliy time.

4. I'll be at the food bank for a few hours helping give out dinner sand food. I will not take anymyself.

5. i'll give a christmas service at 2 of the care homes i visit.

6. My choices leave me without a family. I ain't proud of that fact but thats what happens. so I take the scrabble pieces I picked and try to make the best words out of the letters as I can.

Please do not cry cheyenne, this isn't meant to be a pity thread. I just can't figure out what to eat.

Maybe you could find a resturant. Truck stop perhaps. Find a nice gal you like that is waiting tables. Take a rose with you on the inside pocket of your jacket and a note and her tip tied on wit a Christmas bow. In the note tell her how much you enjoyed the dinner and you realize she would probably rather be some where else on Christmas Day, but you enjoyed the dinner and apreciate her working so you could enjoy your meal. I am sure she will feel alot better about having to work on Christmas. And you will be some where making Christmas a little nicer for both of you. Oh and as far as what you will eat ... look for something you loved as a child but have not had in years, then enjoy it just as you did back then.

hugs for Cheyenne, please cheer up, I am going to be so happy because I will be able to give to people vists that otherwise woulddnt get visited. I will get to feed people who wouldnt get godd food very often, the reason for the season is giving not the recieveing

Bobtoad,

I wouldn't think that anyone you know would consider it an imposition upon their family time if you were with them. I see you being a blessed contribution to a family Christmas. I would be the first to invite you, but I'm eating icky sandwiches in the dogtruck on Christmas day (and loving every minute, so perhaps you might like to come & partake!!)

Christmas Dinner???? My first choice would be popcorn :) Second choice would be the salad. And hot chocolate all around.

And lots of snuggles for dessert.

On second thought... I WISH you could eat the pumpkins at the top of this page I cannot get rid of.

If you don't like my first answer, eating the pumpkins may keep me from going INSANE! Deleting cookies and files etc. I just can't take anymore.

Use them to make a pumpkin pie Bobtoad! Then eat the WHOLE thing!:D

Shelby,

taht is a nice thought but I want to use this to start a new tradition of happy reflection on the season and all that i have to be thankful for.

I wouldnt mind haveing a sandwiche with you either.

I applaud you, you certainly have the whole idea of this silly holiday, one which some, not saying all, seem to have forgotten. This is the time for giving. I too will most probably be spending the day by myself, as my children have much running to do between relatives. I picked up some jumbo shrimp, cheese, crackers, and may possibly make some type of dessert to follow. If my children show up there will be "snack" type food for them. If not, I will indulge in my little feast in candlelight and quiet by myself, and will reflect on the good things in life. Merry Christmas to you Bobtoad, may you receive many blessings for all you are doing this holiday season.

Thank you Ksss, may you be in recievance of the same.

If you make arrangements in advance you silly sweet toad, I'm more than sure that you would be a welcome addition to the care homes for christmas dinner. They are no doubt starved for company as well. Bringing gifts or food of your own would be a plus. Other than that, I simply adore Suzie's idea. :)

If you INSIST on staying home, remember that Christmas is a pagan celtic holiday so the frozen chicken pot pie would be apropos, particularly if you have a nice Yule log available and plenty of evergreens and holly to ward off evil spirits.

By the way, big christmas kisses from the muffin.
