That's right, boys and girls! Halloween costumes, decorations and candy are already on sale in the stores (presented on one tiny 50% off table). Meanwhile the Christmas paraphernalia has arrived and is being wheeled in by the truckloads! Ornaments, Santas, nutcrackers, tree skirts, stockings!

 Ack!

Maybe the U.S. should shove Halloween and Thanksgiving together and get them both over and done with in September?

Not just the US. Even our local Store has both Hallowe'en and Christmas stuff.

I find it fascinating that some of the "get it now - for Christmas" foodstuffs, run out of date in about 8 weeks time.

Bah - Humbug, I say.

I  Christmas, so I'm not offended by it.
However, I will say that putting it out before Halloween is jumping the gun.
November 1st, bust out that Christmas music and deck the freakin' halls. :D

Christmas in October

Anything to strip as much money from the gullible herd as possible. Given the state of the economy in the US, I hope the stores didn't order too much. If they did you may see Christmas goods offered as specials in May. Only in the stores that are still open though. Christmas is the retail make-or-break season and this year it may be break!

It gets my goat. I love Christmas, I do but this year i started to see things creeping into shops in AUGUST! I know people start thinking about presents now, so having an aisle of possible christmas presents, fair dos, I get that but decorations, costumes and ornaments? Unless your a christmas all year round novelty store, leave the decorations 'til November at least, please!

I went to the dollar store last night- there were a few Halloween decorations I had seen and hadn't gotten.
So I went back cuz I wanted them. :D Were they there? Nope. That's because a third of the Halloween decorations had been morphed into Christmas.
Wow! lol. It's slowly taking over. :)

It's been a bad year for retailers and they're hoping that Christmas will save them. So they're starting early.

They'll be disappointed though.
