Christianity Today mag hates Trump

This is a surprise but I can see his point. Trump is...deplorable to the strict Christian view of the world. But he has done things the Christian Right approves of, most notably with the courts. So this is a real dilemma for hard core Christians. Stick strictly to your sense of morality or sign a pact with the Orange Man.

God has a strange way about him when it come to who he uses. It is almost NEVER someone that we would chose or even consider.

Modern Christens much less the heathen can't even began to understand why he picks the people he does to stand forward on the worlds stage to accomplish what he wills. And until whatever that is done there is usually not a damned thing we can do about it.

And when he's through with them he often drops them like a hot potato.

Compared to some of them Trump is a light weight and nice guy beleive it or not...

Quoted for whatever the fuck god boy was rambling about.

It's scary that some people think like that. What a tard! :)

Saul, comes to mind.

They should be glad that He didn't call Saul.

True That!

Some times around here it feels like you are trying to describe color to a blind man.

You can't even blame them for not understanding.:(

Hey, my man's bringin back 'heathen'! Be careful with that one; it's an antique.

They have just the surface level of familiarity so they can impress their heathen friends with their snarky intolerance and bigotry.

Too funny. I was not consciously riffing on FGS's use of the word heathen and I hadn't read candies post when I posted mine. Apparently Heathen is the word of the day.

I ain't heard that since I was a kid pissing my gramps off. Y'all bring it back. It's giving me nostalgia.

It'll probably turn out that it's some kind of racist trope aimed at indigenous persons. So maybe I'll just use it today since it's the word of the day and then drop it again.

thinking people know Trump only gets credit for that by the mere fact that he's in office. He's done nothing really as far as negotiating with the senate on court nominees, you know, actual work effort.

The Federalist Society gives him a list of of people they know the senate will confirm and he passes it on. Something any republican could do. Certainly not an "accomplishment" any more than me dropping a letter at the PO for a friend would be an accomplishment.

Given Trump's utter disdain for the law except when it suits him he doesn't give a shit about any of the judges he nominates and I'm sure he couldn't name a single case any of them have ruled on or give any reason why they'd be a good judge.
They only matter to him in that they make him look good to his base.

As for the vast majority of the evangelicals, the ends justifies the means and we're witness to it.

Donald J. Trump would fail to measure up to the moral standards of most of the world's religions...it's not just a "Christian thing". But as long as he keeps appointin' pro-birth judges, the Christian right will turn a blind eye to his excesses.

Any other Republican would have folded like a cheap suit on Kavenaugh. Most would have offered Garland as a peace offering, which would have bought no peace at all.

Perhaps, but there are plenty of anti-choice judges who'd do just as well in giving the christian right and the extreme right what they want. Which is what I said. Really nothing to do with Trump's ability for selecting Judges or getting them confirmed.
He didn't even have to do anything with Kavenaugh, the Senate took care of the matter.

I don't pay attention to ancillary sources,
which make me wonder, why do I
pay any attention to busybody...

Maybe after the democrats get Sharia Law instituted, a truly religious man can be elected. :)
