A story about cultural and sexual exchange. Historical fiction. Takes place during the crusades. Suppose that the French were defeated at Tours and that the Arabic Empire spreaded into the European heartland. Now, the Christian Kingdom of France must make peace with the powerful Arabic Empire and submit as a vassal. As a part of the agreement, the royal familiy must convert to Islam and the French King must send his lovely princesses and other noble ladies of the court into North Africa, where they would enter a harem and be "educated" in the manners of submissive harem women. They would shed their christian dress and manners and become Arabic harem entertainers.

This is a good idea for a story, but it would take a lot of research to get it even part way right.

I agree with snooper. I've been working for sometime on a similar idea set in Spain prior to the reconquista. Just getting a grip on the political realities and general outlook of people by class, station and religion is a chore.
