In my opinion there is always a way to tell the truth in a nice way . Besides there is always a way to be silent if it isn't possible to be nice in such a situation .

Of course that doesn't mean to be false just not to use honesty as an excuse to pour on others things which are related more with our own problems than with the receiving listener's one . :) :rose:

I'm blunt and honest. Sometimes that comes across as cruel, and that doesn't bother me in the least. If you can't deal with my opinion, don't ask me for it.

Ps . being nice doesn't mean to be pleasant  :rose:

I'm usually at my most pleasant to people I don't like :D

Though I'm nice to the ones I'm stalking *stalks* :rose:

You put that well, I like the way you think.

Hmm.

Interesting question. One can call honest that which is really mean. For example, "giving your honest opinion" can be mean, whereas softening that blow by using more friendly language may be considered dishonest by some.

I have already tried both ways. I tried being nice first, but the saying that nice guys finish last has certainly held true in my case. Therefore, I am now more honest. It has not exactly improved things, but I feel better about myself for being honest. Then again, I'm not exactly "normal".

A-freaking-men, sistah!

Honesty, with tact, is my usual policy. But sometimes, nothing you can say will be nice. Or perhaps nothing you say will be interpreted as being nice.

*grins and shrugs* C'est la vie!
