currently taking care of bed ridden mom and going to college (potentially for nursing degree... ) have worked as an emergency room tech/ cardiac tech for the last 16 years.

lit for me is a way to live outside this house. i dont leave here all that much for recreational purposesssss...so having some kind of mental stimulation is a good thing. i also enjoy seeing my stuff out there... who knows, if i can make someone smile or 'stroke it' then im pretty damn happy.

Left school at 17, worked for the railroad for several years, then bullshitted my way into a computer operator's job (I knew nothing about computers at that time).

Used my extra time to teach myself computer programming and started doing that for a living.

Did that for about 15 years. Then my marriage went bad, my career came to an end, my brain chemistry went funny, and I was made homeless; all at the same time.

I've been spending most of the last ten years recovering from that. I'm a janitor now, pay's not so great but there's very little corporate bullshit.

I've been writing (a little) for several years now. I've had a few things published (Letters to editor in local newspapers, letter to Foreign Policy, articles in Mensa Canada Communications) but nothing for money.

Lit's become a big part of my world now. I love the people here (with a couple of exceptions) and having my stories voted and commented on does wonders for my self esteem.

I'm Patti, Patricia, or Little Cloud, depending on who you ask , and I live in Alabama, the heart of Dixie.

Not working now, but was in retail clothing management for around 18 years - I loved it! (yes, I know how insane that sounds). Eventually moved up to a training manager and I got to travel all over the country with that job - was way too much fun.

Now staying at home with my youngest boy, who just turned 4. I have two other kids - a daughter who will be 24 next month, and starting her master's degree in the spring, and a son who is 15, and all about cars, girls, and video games.

College educated and sorta wasting it right now. I started my master's, and hopefully, will be able to finish it one day.

Oh, yeah - I'm married, but not happily. It's a situation that'll get fixed eventually, though.

Hey all...I've mostly been dealing with people online other than when I go to gaming conventions so am more used to being called by one of those personas (which would be Remec, Aldarras, and Fax for those taking notes <g>) but I still answer my given name too. hehehe

I turned 39 back in July. Have a wonderful wife, two stepkids and one we had together (ages 12, 8, and 4....my how time flies), and live in Virginia Beach where I run the third shift at a 7-11 and keep my bachelor's in theatre in idle until the kids are old enough to help their mother and me with the daycare we run on the side.

(The idea being they can free me up to take on the occasional stage manager position, or even audition for an actual role.)

I have eclectic tastes in music and film, although my book shelves are almost entirely fantasy, sci-fi, and James Patterson...<shrug>

I am a gamer...roleplay, board, tactical, regular cards as well as CCGs...and, now and then, accompany my wife in her hobby with the SCA.

I orginally came to Lit from Gregpix as a reader of smut, but then I found the forums and SRP, then someone introduced me to AH and, voila!, here I am. I finally got around to posting some poems and stories, and now I see Lit as a way to simply get back into writing regularly....

My son is four and it's taken me a long time to get back into the groove of writing every day, since I stay home with him.

I never wrote short fiction until I found this website and it's helped me to improve so much. I have a boyfriend of six years, who can be found snoring on the sofa while I toil away at these romantic anal tales.

I'm Flannel (yeah, that's my real name). I'm twenty-three years old, born in Los Angeles, California. I spent the first half of my life travelling all over the world, due to military family and military school.

I settled myself into the University of Mississippi where I got degrees in Psychology, Philosophy and Religion. I was a Blanton Scholar (Philosophy Competition), founded the University's Model United Nations organization, and did a lot of work in Psychology of Instructional Techniques.

Coupling Psych studies in instruction and Philosophy work has made teaching Logic and Philosophy much easier and more effective. I hope to reshape the public education system, as a career goal. Meantime, its working on a Clinical Psychology and a Philosophy masters... leading to PhD work, soon.
