A day doesn't go by that I don't think about her. She was my high school sweetheart. We shared everything from hot necking sessions to cigarettes to ice cream cones, to powerful drinks at a Manhattan nightclub after the Prom, and dozens of drunken graduation parties. It was 1969.
We saw each other everyday and we worked well together. We saw Janis Joplin in a great concert at Forest Hills Stadium ... we saw "Fiddler On The Roof" on Broadway.
In July of '69 we held our breath and each other as Neil Armstrong took that "One small step for a man ... " She wasn't just my girlfriend ... she was my Best Friend. Her folks were crazy about me ... and my folks felt the same way about her.
---
That was all the good stuff. THE BAD STUFF:
1) We never had sex ... she always said no.
2) We had entirely different dreams.
We broke up in August of '69. It took more than a year to get over her ... very painful.
But I still loved her so dearly. I still dream about her at least once a week. I still wish her only the best ... because I guess I still love her. It's almost 1 AM. Good night Chip ... pleasant dreams!:rose::kiss::heart::heart:
