Do you have a favorite kind?

Do you eat it with chopsticks out of those cute little cardboard containers?

It's lunchtime here and I'm thinking of heading out to get some broccoli with beef....I had it several weeks ago for the first time and it was yummy! I also loved steamed rice and hot and sour soup.

mmmmmmmmm

Chinese food sounds good today!

My favorite is

Sweet and Sour Chicken or
General Tso Chicken with extra spicy sauce
Eggrolls..
Hot and Sour soup.

And I have never mastered the use of chopsticks. Too impatient to try. When my food gets there, I want to go at it right away.

:p

Orange Chicken...or Garlic Chicken ummmmmmm and crab ragoons(SP?) I love to use chopsticks, but it takes me a long time to eat... I just can't seem to get 'um right.

Just the smell sends my gag reflex over load. I had a bad experiance with Chinese and morning sickness when I was preggy with baby #1. Since then, can't even smell the stuff.

Gilly Bean

:p

Lo Mein noodles. Yummy!!

(Really just wanted to move this thread away from being underneath the defecating one. :p )

Crab rangoons are the BEST in chinese food. Chicken fried rice or shrimp fried rice would have to be my faves as as "meal" stuff goes though.

Chopsticks? well, I hear their good for other things than eating! :p and I don't mean catching flies Danielson!

I love me some Sweet and Sour Chicken or Pork or Beef or Shrimp.

I love lo mein and fried rice. I like Tao's Chicken.

I love Beef and Broccoli.

Yes I use chopsticks, in fact have my very own custom set. Got em while I was in Japan a few years back.

Speaking of.........Chinese Food. I might make some shrimp fried rice tonight with a side of Beef!!!!!

Yes, I do eat with chopsticks. In fact, I prefer to eat most things with chopsticks (with a few notable exceptions:cool: )

Faves - Kung Pao Chiken, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Steamed Dumplings and Shrimp Toast

DA- well, that would explain why I never saw one single cat when I was there!

For real Chinese food, I love Peking Duck- crispy, juicy mouth-watering meat in light-as-air crepes and served with a plum sauce and a thimbleful of that horrific grain alcohol/paint thinner/turpentine stuff (white liquor) they serve with it.

In Chinese restaurants here, I love crab rangoons and (up until reading nasty's thread yesterday) pu-pu platter for appetizers. For the main course I love beef and pea pods, and Kung Pao and General Tsao dishes. And I love trying dishes from all the regions- from the mild Cantonese to the spicier Mandarin and Szechuan.

Between this and the Breakfast thread, I am now hungry again! ;)

You americans and your bland chinese food

How I laugh :D

And how many Chinese food restaurants in America have you been in?

None :D

I'm still to visit american but plan to change that soon.

But since I run my own restaurant in a tourist area of London this is what I have gathered from lots of American tourist.....most of them say the chinese food in england has much more flavour and tastes a lot better. And every chinese person I know who has been to America has told me the Chinese food there sucks

So that's what I think

Nyah :p

What do you think they're going to say?
"You know, your food is alright but what I've tasted in America is much better"?

Americans tend to, well, Americanize their foods; Chinese, Italian and 'Mexican' foods especially. One of the pleasures of being in a big city, however, is being able to find the 'real deal' when it comes to a type of food.

That is true
But I'm european raised so I'm reared on strong flavours

so maybe your bland american food would not appeal to me :D

Ask For More, the United States has bland food, it also has food that would knock your socks off. If you think all the US produces is Coke and McDonald's Double Pounders you're sadly mistaken.

I know, I'm just beating the food down so I can eat shitloads when i finally go over and appreciate it more :)
