China’s Ambassador to Canada, Cong Peiwu, warned the country on Thursday that, if Ottawa cares about the “health and safety” of Canadians, it will not extend a hand to help Hong Kong refugees fleeing a wave of communist repression.

Leftist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had warned China in remarks this week that Canada would not accept “coercive diplomacy” and that Ottawa would publicly condemn China for human rights abuses both in Hong Kong and in Xinjiang, a western province where evidence suggests the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has placed as many as 3 million people in concentration camps.

First off, China is not really a threat militarily speaking, they are more of an Economic threat. Since Canada is not the dominant financial economy, we have little to worry about if China becomes the largest economy.

You should go read some history, you might benefit from it.

It was the US, who requested bases in Canada back in the cold war days of the late 50's and early 60's to protect itself from attack by Russia. It was not Canada asking the US for protection, now was it?

Due to that, Canada and the US grew into a pretty good mutual defence partnership over the past 70 years, least till Trump got in, and made the US the laughing stock of the rest of the Western World...need I dig up Trudeau and Macron and Johnson all laughing about him????

Any socialist or communist country is a threat to everyone everywhere. The core drive behind the leaders of any such form of government is power. There is always a core of elite people that are above the law and that end up filthy rich. And I do mean filthy. They gain power by promising the mindless masses whatever they have to promise in order for them to secure power. Once they have it they just keep increasing the governments power over the people. China has worked in the background for years to twist the thinking of American educators in order to get a generation of young ones that have no real world experience and that will swallow the same old lie. This is delusional on any levels. Taiwan and India, just for starters, feel the threat of a vigorous, growing and well-funded PLA. Prudence, preparation and preemption do not imply fear, but rather a begrudging respect for a professed enemy, one willing to launch a virus on the world as a military weapon even as they work frenetically on weaponizing space in order to take out our GPS system rendering a lot of our defense capabilities moot.
