According to today's The Times, The Chilli Pepper Company of Cark-in-Cartmel, Cumbria, England has produced a world-beating chilli variety called Naga Viper.

A normal Jalapeno chilli measures 2,500 to 5,000 on the Scoville Scale.

Naga Viper measures 1,359,000.

It will feature in the 2012 edition of the Guinness World Records.

The previous reigning worlds hottest chili was the *ghost chili* or by it' s real name the Naga Jolikia the Viper has it beat by 300,000 Scoville points.

There's a hamburger joint in San Antonio Tx. that features a burger called the 4 horsemen, a regular cheeseburger with sliced fresh jalapenos, a Habanero sauce, with a serrano chili sauce topped off with the ghost chili paste.

No one has been able to get past a couple bites let alone eat the burger.

I do hope they have it properly tethered.

Which hamburger joint? I'm pretty close.

Does it come with a side of fire extinguisher? ;)

Tear gas with some protein.

LOLOL

Thanks Ogg.

I'm trying to grow some Ghost Chili's, we'll see if they come up or not.

Honestly though it's not the heat of the pepper that makes peppers interesting to me but their flavor. (Although being able to stand the heat is a good thing when eating them.)

Notice I mentioned flavor. Flavor is what is truly important. I can make foods and Sauces that are pure heat but they don't interest me. (If I want pure heat I can suck on a Blow Torch.)
