Children's Book Requests

My grant was approved so I have money to buy children's books for my school library. I'm interested mainly in your selections for early readers, first through third grade. Any suggestions?

Congrats! Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst. I loved this when I was a kid, and it's still cool. Even in Australia.

All the Tiffany Aching series by Terry Pratchett. In print there are three and it appears that Sir Terry is working hard through his Alzheimer's to finish the last, I Shall Wear Midnight. God bless you, Sir Terry.

All the wonderful picture books by Holling Clancy Holling. They were printed in the late '40's and are still in print . . . in hardcover! I read about half of Sea Bird to my fifth graders today and they were enthralled.
