If you are still childless:

How many do you want?
Do you want boys or girls (or both)?
Do you care which order they are born in?
At what age do you think you PERSONALLY are too old to have children?

If you have children:

Before you had children, how many do you want?
How many do you have?
Are you done having children?
Did you want boys or girls (or both)?
Did it matter what order they were born in?

Before you had children, how many do you want?
Yes...2 or 3

How many do you have?
1

Are you done having children?
Yes

Did you want boys or girls (or both)?
Both

Did it matter what order they were born in?
No

I want 3 at least. Myhusband wants 2. I'm trying to figure out a way to trick him by having twins the second round.

I want 2 boys and a girl, but I want her last. Being the baby girl rules.

See above

35, but only because of family history prooving it is difficult to get pregnant after that.

I have two children. One boy, on girl.

Before having children, I only knew that I wanted them. I had no figure or gender in mind.

I am very happy with what I have.

Given world enough, time and money, I would have more. However, at my age, it isn't likely to happen.

So, I am happy with my two little ones.

you know not what you speak of :D

I am not Childless I am childfree.

I choose to have none.

I also add that some people have no choice.

No children right now, don't plan on any for at least 8 or so years. I would like to have a girl first, and maybe a son later. Too old to have children...I would say 50 or so...

I don't have any. I'd like to adopt an older kid someday. I took care of a streetkid when I was in my early twenties, and it was a rewarding experience to see this boy blossom from a troubled teen into a fine young man. A little guidance and love can go a long way. I discovered I can handle teenagers, but younger children intimidate me for some reason. So I'd like to adopt officially someday, and I'd be happy with a child older than, say, ten.

wanted one
have two
DO NOT want any more so I had the plumbing pipes fixed of all potential leaky drips
wanted a boy, then after we decided to have a second hoped it was going to be a girl, we were not granted our wish and the furniture has paid the heaviest of price

I didn't think I ever wanted children.

How many do you have?

2 girls. Wild and Unruly.

Are you done having children?

No, I'd like one more. My husband is done though, so that's unlikely.

Did you want boys or girls (or both)?

I was positive that both of mine were boys. I didn't even pick out girl type names until the last minute. I wouldn't swap 'em out for boys though.

Did it matter what order they were born in?

As long as they came out one at a time, no.

Before you had children, how many do you want? 4

How many do you have? 3 lovely lil girls

Are you done having children? yes, hubby only wanted 1, he compromised. but #3 is 17 mths old and a pure terror! Turned me off totally from wanting more. Hubby will be "fixed" soon!

Did you want boys or girls (or both)? when i was younger i wanted 2 boys, 2 girls.....but when i had my first daughter, i didnt want boys, i got lucky :D

Did it matter what order they were born in? wanted the boys first

If you read the questions that follow, it was clearly not directed at people who did not want or could not conceive.

It was not intended as a value statement, merely an inquiry directed at those that had an interest.

Before you had children, how many do you want?

No idea - the thought of even one was unthinkable.

How many do you have?

5. boy, girl, boy, girl, boy - last two were twins

Are you done having children?

My wife is.

Did you want boys or girls (or both)?

Just anything.

Did it matter what order they were born in?

No.

The life thing is still a total mystery to me. Totally baffling. I didn't take any of it for granted and still don't.

Sure I do. 2 of my brothers are twins.

All I can say (from experience) is, "Your poor mom!"

I wouldn't change it for anything, but I swear there is an 18 month period that I've totally blacked out!

My poor mom raised 8 kids. 7 boys and me, I doubt the fact that 2 were twins really phased her much. lol At least she claims it didn't.

Are they your only kids? See, 2 at once at first is far different. Your first baby is scary and confusing enough without doubling that. My twin brothers came after 2 older boys. Totally different.

I hope you have a dog.

Good point.

Wynken and Blynken were our first. Nod followed a few years later.

No dog - my wife says she's at her potty training limit currently.

Before you had children, how many do you want?
-I really didn't care, but I knew I didn't want a whole bunch.

How many do you have?
-I have 2 biological and 2 more that I consider to be children of my heart.

Are you done having children?
-I sure hope not.

Did you want boys or girls (or both)?
-With my first, I was so adament that I wanted a daughter that I don't know what I'd have done if she was born a boy. The second time around, I knew it was a boy, but I didn't really care one way or the other.

Did it matter what order they were born in?
-Other than the fact I desperately wanted a little girl at the time I got pregnant the first time, no. If I knew for sure I'd have a daughter in there somewhere, I could have probably handled a boy first.

Your wife is a wise woman!

I got a puppy...my first and only, when my daughter was two years old and the maternal pangs were kicking in. So, I thought the puppy would take care of things!

OH MY GOD! What a nightmare! Two toddlers and a puppy!

Ack!

Not to mention what the Ritalin Bros. would have done to the poor bugger...

I wanted two... at least

I have two

Yes. I'm done. Two is more than I can handle.

I wanted both and got both.

Yes. I wanted the boy first and got him first.

I love my kids but the worries of them are somtimes more than I can bare. Thus I don't want any more. Even if every thing is going great I still worry about them and there future. The worries never stop nor go away. But my kids always make me smile I couldn't see living with out them.

Who said anything about puppies? You can get them full grown you know. Our first dog was the world's best babysitter. All those things kids do just as you turn your back, my mom had warning of.

It's ideal to have the dog before the babies. I have 3. But they're an amazing help. You don't think about it like that, but they are.

Not to mention the life lessons they teach kids. Responsibility, care, kindness, loss. I can't imagine having kids and not having a dog. Hell I can't imagine not having a dog.
