In ancient Egypt, the feline goddess of protection and divine mother, Bastet, was said to watch over the Pharoah. Her children; her kittens, were those who watched over her temples and did her terra-bound work. Her temple was filled with statues and figures depicting the goddess, as well as small figures depicting her children.

As time passed, the developing modern world began to grow outside the temple, the felines becoming less and less important in lives until they were finally forgotten. It wasn't until an expedition group uncovered one of these temples that the goddess' children rose once again, reawakening in modern day New York City where their mother's figures were brought to be displayed at a museum.

Though niave about the world of today, the felines are quite intelligent in most other areas. The felines have the ability to appear like any other human, but only for a limited time. Their usual appearance is adapted from their feline goddess mother; a humanoid cat.

(Came from an idea I had during a very boring day at work. It might not make much sense so here's the basic idea: Confused Catpeople in New York City.)

Note- Just because I refer to all the cats as Bastet's children does NOT mean they are all related.

I'm looking for about 4-5 other cat people.
Others can be humans they encounter and such.

Please put up a profile! :)

Name: Tiffi
Age: Appears 19
Appearance: See Attached.

Bio: Originally one of the priestesses of Bastet's temple, Tiffi often felt a deep frustration over having to remain a virgin. All of the other feli were allowed to have intimate relations... yet she had to remain a good kitten. How droll! Still, she did hold a strong sense of pride in being chosen to watch over Bastet's temple, teaching herself to fight with various weapons as well as hand-to-hand. Though a bit lost in most other areas, she can easily tell when trouble is nearby and is always ready for a fight.

OCC: I'll join!

Name: Anu
Age: Looks about 18-19
Appearance: Just add red cat ears

Bio: Anu also has watched over Bastet's temple until the temple faded from knowledge. Though he may seem like a space-case, he really just has a hard time paying attention. He always has a zoned out look on his face, which brings to question if he'a alright in the head or not...

Name: Kalliope
Age: Looks to be about 21
Appearance: ((above))

Bio: Kalliope, often referred to as Kalli, was 'volunteered' to be a priestess. It's not that she doesn't want to be but she wanted to go out a live. Once it all faded away she was sealed away as well. She's a no nonesense kind of girl and likes the facts to be presented to her outright. She doesn't get lostin the details and has no trouble seeing the whole picture. She can be blunt and fairly quick to anger. Not usually traits of a priestess but she gets the job done.

((let me know if this is alright.))

Mike: Archeology grad student studying Egyptian history at the museum. He runs and stays well in shape, and when he dresses up nice, it can be seen, but mostly he is absorbed in the work, telling himself it will only be one more year.
5'10", brown hair, blue eyes

Mike was only a little short of finishing up this damned paper, and thanks to his late-night access to the museum archives, he might just get it done tonight and have a weekend for once. Still, that lies long hours ahead, and as he strides the dark halls of the museum towards the basement, he is silent in frustration at having to come all the way downtown for this.

Jonathan

Jonathan
28 years old
Graduated United States Navy Academy; Marine option
USMC Capt (Just off active duty 2 years in Iraq)
Presently security at Museum in NYC, Egypt Exhibit
5'8" 200lbs (muscle)
Short brown hair

Jonathan had only been on duty at the museum for about an hour when he saw Mike storming down the hallway to the basement archives.
"Another long night in the archives, bro?" He wasn't expecting an answer the man hasn't been talkative lately and that's understandable.

He'd only been working in the museums security department for about a month, having just returned from 2 years in Iraq it was nice to have a job that didn't involve terrorists trying to blow his ass off in some desert. In fact about the only complaint that Jonathan had about his new job is that NOTHING happens, EVER, he comes in relieves the swing shift guard at 11 and is relieved by the Duty Captain at 6. He pulls out his logbook and enters Mikes entrance at 23:59.
