Child found on US 80.... unreal...

OMG.

My baby's dead and she leaves hers alone to wander into traffic.

Great. So much for justice in the world.

" . . . a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in prison."

At which time she'll get out and be able to have more children . . . unreal.

Well, I was about to give her a pass. I know, I can hear you all now! ;)

That is, until this:

"Police notified Thornbrugh about the child's location, and she met officers at the hospital more than four hours later."

That I don't get - four hours. Maybe she had been drinking?

I can hardly remember being two years old. I can remember being four. I remember one day hauling ass out of the yard trying to chase my dad. He was driving to the airport, and I was motating on those stubby little legs trying to catch him. Of course, I went a long way before I realized it was hopeless and by then I was good and lost, but good!

Funny thing happened. I knocked on a door which happened to be an office. After a soothing snack of milk and cookies I was fetched by the fire department. That's who the gal called, the fire department.

I'm not sure my mom knew I was gone until the fire marshall's car rolled up to the house with me in it. Of course, she was beside herself, but No harm, no foul.

Apt point! The dog refused to leave the baby, unlike mom.
Brings back endearing childhood memories of when my step-mother would leave us home alone with the doberman. This probably explains why I'm one of those crazy overprotective mothers who never lets my kid out of my sight.
