So I leave for two weeks, my first bit of time off in months. I come back to find everyone everyone running around a la Chicken Little - "The Board is Being Destroyed by Silly Posts!" "The Board is Being Destroyed by Hostility!" "The Board is Being Destroyed by Too Many Posters with Blonde Hair and Brown Eyes!"
I took a good long look at the BB today, and I'm here to say that no, the sky is not falling.
Here's a little reality for y'all:
1) This is a porn site. You come here to have fun. Remember?
2) The board is the same as it has always been, only with more posts and more members. This means a wider variety of discussion, which IMHO is good thing.
3) If you go back through the archives, you will find that, like clockwork, every few months or so someone starts a "The Board Isn't What It Used to Be" thread and gets everyone all riled up. This hysteria is nothing new.
4) There are now more threads complaining about people/types of posts/posters' hair color than there are silly AND serious posts.
Take a good look through the new threads - ALL of them, not just the 4 or 5 you've looked at today. There are so many intriguing, fun, silly, serious, WORTHY topics, yet we've all gotten into this rut of dwelling on the few that we don't like and projecting that onto the rest of the board. Maybe it's not the board that's changed - maybe it's us. Maybe we all need to step back and remember why we come here. We need to quit letting all the little irritations - which have been here since we joined the BB, but only lately seem to bother us - prevent us from enjoying our stay.
