According to this story, the Chicago police department is running a "blacksite" prison (on US soil) where suspected criminals are literally kidnapped off the streets, illegally detained, denied the right to a lawyer and to see family, and allegedly beaten and tortured.
It isn't terrorists they are doing this to, these are just regular garden-variety criminals who haven't even been convicted of anything yet. Hence the term "innocent until proven guilty."
Of course this does not surprise me, the Chicago PD (as well as the Chicago city/Illinois state government in general) have a very long and storied history of corruption, cronyism, shady dealings, connections to organized crime, and violence.
If this is true, then this has set a VERY BAD precedent for this country.
