Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson warned the entire country "is at stake" if President Biden doesn't spend resources addressing the migrant crisis that is overwhelming his city.

The progressive leader appeared Wednesday on CNN to talk about the surge of migrants into the sanctuary city. He argued that leaders in his state and around the country need to work together in a more "coordinated" approach that is backed by "significant" financial support from the Biden administration.

"[W]ithout real significant investment from our federal government, it won’t just be the city of Chicago that won’t be able to maintain this mission; it’s the entire country that is now at stake," Johnson said.

Over 20,000 migrants have appeared in the Windy City since August 2022, Fox32 Chicago has reported.

Yes, when the federal government sends resources to border states to manage migrants processing and then those states pocket the money and send migrants to states that don't get federal funding, that is an issue....hence the coordination needed between states. All in all, more resources ans funding are needed from Congress to address the backlog and to give states like Illinois the same resources that Texas already has.

As the year-end toll mounts for the costs of the “welcoming” policies that Democrat Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker and the city of Chicago continue to push, many villages, cities, and counties in the collar area around Chicago are finally starting to push back by enacting laws that ban buses from dropping off homeless illegal aliens in their jurisdictions.

In response to Chicago’s restrictions, several cities quickly passed ordinances of their own to prevent buses from dropping off any of the illegal aliens that were initially headed for Chicago.

The moves by the surrounding communities show that the governor and the left-wing rulers in Chicago are far out of touch with what most of Illinois wants to see happen with immigration policy.

For his part, even as he claims to still support sanctuary city policies, Chicago’s mayor is drowning in the costs of providing free housing, legal assistance, health care, food, and education to the illegal immigrants he is “welcoming” to the city. And he plans to appropriate $95 million in funding that was supposed to go to deal with the COVID-19 virus and redirect those dollars to housing illegal aliens.

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America Reports,” Chicago Alderman Brian Hopkins acknowledged that city leaders did send a message that anyone could come by being a sanctuary city — although he doesn’t agree with sending that message — but nobody “had any idea that it would lead to this today” when the city became a sanctuary city in the 1980s and the current situation “was completely unpredicted and it’s completely unprecedented and nobody thought a sanctuary city would mean what it means.”

Election year again, snowflake!

You're 0 for 1 wagering against me. Wanna go for 0-2? 🤣

Fox News......ha nobody cares. Fox can't even get a broadcast licence in Canada as a News network, they have to register as an Entertainment channel...
And in US courts, they've argued that they are the same in order to shirk responsibility for their horrible track record for factual accuracy.

Argued? They actually won with that argument.

Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams ordered the closure of James Madison High School in Brooklyn on Wednesday, forcing those students into remote learning so that the high school could be used as a shelter for illegal immigrants.

“Our community cannot handle this crisis,” New York State Assembly candidate Col. Tom Sullivan said in a statement. “Cars are being stolen, stores are being robbed, and people are being accosted by migrants begging at their front doors. The fact we are spending millions for this camp that this makes our community less safe is a slap in the face to all the hard-working families that call Rockaway home.”

New York Democrats aren’t the only ones prioritizing illegal immigrants over the education of U.S. citizens. California Democrats are considering raiding the state’s education reserve fund in order to begin paying for free healthcare for the state’s illegal immigrants.
