CHICAGO Lit-Together 2007

I'll have to work up the nerve to ask my parents for money for the trip. And get a passport as I'll need one by then.

But doable.

Oh my, Rob at a Lit together?! *jealousy*

I can't wait to get one. :D

I guess that mean you can't make it, ari. :(

You guessed it, but that's nothing new.
*slump*

...I'm just going to have to have one at my house sometime. :devil:

Ooo. I'll try real hard to make that. :D

Obviously since I live here, I'm in. I can't plan that far in advance, but since I don't have to travel, it won't make much difference. I'll be happy to volunteer to be a chauffeur to get anyone to and from the bus/train/airport. I can also do a lot of legwork finding out cool things to do around the city (I have lots of contacts who live and work downtown). Once we have a date decided, I'll try to come up with as many suggestions as possible.

Sounds excellent, S-D. :)

You and Zoot, being Chicago residents, will be doing much of the in-city planning suggestions, I'm afraid.

I do like your idea of staying in the suburbs, rather than the city proper. It'll save money on hotels - but will we lose it in cab fare?

Questions, questions - I'm already checking out round trip ticket prices.

:cathappy:
Cabs = bad.
Train = good (very cheap)

Depending on how many people come, it would be possible to chauffeur people as well. Staying at a hotel that isn't as expensive, yet has a bar and a pool (and maybe a hot tub :devil: ) might be a way to have some quiet fun to supplement any major plans. Since I haven't attended a Lit together, I have no idea if people would expect end to end tourism, some quiet hanging out, or even forming into groups and enjoying different things. Knowing what people would like to do would help out a lot.

Will do my bestest to get there.

Have a conference in Virginia Beach 8-11 March ... and one in Houston 25-29 April. So, late March would probably be doable.

:cool:

Wait just a cotton pickin' minute here! Chicago isn't anywhere near Idaho! :mad:

Yet, if you make it, many hugs await (plus much spoiling :D ). :rose: BTW, love the new AV.

That goes for you too Sarahh, as long as you promise to dress in your lawn mowing outfit...that whole thread was such a turn-on. :D

Oh, gawd.

Those shoes are too green to wear anywhere. If I attempted to board the plane they would check me over for smuggling dope or explosives or something.

Maybe I'll steal my bitch neighbor's outfit.

:D
*shudder* Thank you for that visual. I'll sleep pleasantly tonight. ;)

We've tossed the idea about, now it's time for serious plans. It seems most folks will be too busy the rest of this year so we're looking at the spring of 2007.

March or April? And what time during either month?

What works best for you? Toss up your choices. After a few days we'll see what we've come up with.

I am fairly flexible during that time, but the weekend of March 23-25 would work especially well for me.

Let's narrow down the when before we proceed.

:)

UPDATES:

Possible Meeting Time - Late March

I am 3 hours from Chicago. . .I am sooooooooooo there. :D :kiss: :D

Not doable for practical reasons. I have a wedding (my own) planned for spring. That will knock out both time and surplus cash for it. Otherwise, it would be a nice thing if I could manage to pull it off.
