Thank you for your attention.

This won't be a fun thread for most, so scoot.

Chey, much as I'm intrigued by the Keeper, I'm still reluctant.

Please, Chey, you were right about Magic and so many others!

Please, convince me to give it a shot this cycle, will you.

Signed,

Reluctant in Chicago.

Ok this is the 2nd time in a week I've heard mention of this mysterious keeper. What pray tell is it?

Chey please enlighten me, while helping draaah out.

I still remember that one time Whispersecret told us about how she dropped the Keeper while it was full, and it looked as if someone had been horribly murdered in her bathroom. :D

Not helping the cause, but yeah.

Heh.

It's like a rubber cap your cervix wears during your period.

That's a little too much personification of the cervix for my taste.

She'll link you to alarmingly informational threads; she's good like that.

Me, I just start new threads cause I'm lazy with the search function.

You're thinking of the disposable "Instead."

The Keeper is a little different. It fits much lower, much closer to the vaginal opening.

hmmm... I've used Instead and liked it.

Is it uncomfortable? Can you feel it there?

Is it easy enough to remove without making a mess?

Check the threads I linked for a lot more detail, especially the first one.

But no, you can't feel it. It is very comfortable and that is the beauty of it. You insert and forget about it for 12 hours.

It is easy to remove without making a mess after you get the hang of it. Part of the trick is to not let it get too full. If it is more than half full, you have a better chance of making a mess. It just takes a little practice and then you're fine with it.

Okay....stupid question!

Could you have sex with it inside or is it too close to the opening?

I know..I know!!! :D

But it was more wishfull thinking than anything!! :D They need to make something for that!

Nope, no penetrating sex with it in. It is VERY low in the canal, not at all like Instead. It is easy to remove as you can touch it when you reach in with your fingers. It rides differently for each of us, but in my experience, it doesn't matter if I insert it further or not. It ends up in approximately the same place, low.

I know you can have sex with Instead in place. But Instead is disposable and the Keeper is reusable. It is good for 10 years according to the literature. I can't imagine how it could ever wear out though. I think it will last longer than 10 years easily.

Time for me to get moving on rl errands, but I'll check in later today to see if there are any more "Keeper" questions. It really is a good product for those who are comfortable with their body and not squeemish.

I'm just coming up to the end of my first period using the Keeper, and it's been pretty good - a few niggles, but that was mainly because I was trying to put it in too high. It's certainly been less messy and cheaper than tampons!
