Hi

Guys I want to get into writing, and I already started writing a few stories but I am very insecure about my stories. English is not my first language, I only learned a little bit in school and I am pretty sure that my grammar sucks hard.

My question is, are there ways to check if you story is written properly? I know that MS word checks for mistakes, but I have no idea how to turn word into english. Also, is it possible to hire people to check your story or to write short parts for you? And how much would that cost?

You could try asking this question on the Editors Forum but there is always a shortage of volunteer editors.

Language (from Word 2007 help) - In Word, click on the ? and type language:

Check spelling and grammar in a different language in Office 2007

Every language version of Office 2007 includes proofing tools, such as dictionaries and grammar rules, for more than one language. With the appropriate proofing tool languages available and installed, you can change the dictionary language to check the spelling of a word or a document written in a different language.

Notes:

##For later versions of Office, see Check spelling and grammar in a different language in Office 2010 and later.

## If your version of Office 2007 does not include the language that you want to use, you may need to add a language or download a language interface pack.

##If you just want to type certain characters or symbols, such as the umlaut in German (ö), the tilde in Spanish (ñ), or the cedilla (Ç) in Turkish, you can use the Symbol gallery, use the keyboard shortcut, or insert ASCII or Unicode Latin-based symbols or characters.
