So i am wanted to collaborate on a story with someone, we have tried this twice before, but we just couldnt do it. We wanted a good story where we each kind of switched off writing, and e-mail the parts to each other... Well anyway, we tried to do it again. I had a brilliant idea...i take all credit. I open up word and remembered the online collaboration thing i discovered once. So after some playing around, we got it to work. Basically her and i both have the same word document open at the same time. When i write something she sees it as i write it. And then she can jump in whenever she wants. its amazingly cool and just damn fun to do. All you need...(actually i dont know if you both need word or not!) but probably word, and msn messenger. (oh and it says you can do this with more than 2 people but we have yet to try it). All you have to do is get each other on msn messenger, then hit start program sharing. Then it should ask the person to accept, and when they do a little window comes up and there is the option to add program. So you hit that and it gives you the list of all the programs you're running, so you choose word, hit share. Then at the bottom it says allow control, you check that box, and then two options open up, one is something like "automatically accept request". Now, you are both set. The only thing is, you cant both be writing at the same time, if one writes, it takes control from the other. And this even extends outside of word, you cant even click next song on winamp....slight downside. But anyway, the result is incredible. we have 3 chapters done in 3 nights, about 6000 words, ill submit them soon.

Did people know about this on here? cause i would hope they would have let everyone know...and i think this could really change the nature of chain stories.
