Hi, giving my first post on these forums even though I have visited the Lit site over the years. Take a look at my profile if you are interested in talking, I am mostly interested in just speaking to women, but if you're a guy and want to shoot the breeze feel free to PM me as well, I do enjoy talking about books/games/movies and the like.

A little edit to this..Make sure you post and join in with the conversations that we have. Especially if you are a geek or geekete! I enjoy coming home from work and seeing some good posts that I can reply to and create some good conversation..so have at it!

I must say, not often you see D&D listed in a profile unless it's referring to D&D free, heh. I sat in with a group who played a few years back, but never really got into it - I believe I would require a higher intelligence grade than these folks were offering to really be drawn in.

I suppose Tennessee explains the geek tendencies interspersed with the hunting/fishing, lol. Not something you see often up here, the lines are clear, you are either a redneck or a geek. If you contain DNA from both you are usually given an exorcism by the snake worshipping yokels on Saturday near the big fish pond.

Yeah, anyway, *wave*.

I'm around if you want to chat, just surfing kijiji looking for some puppy replacement therapy. You don't happen to have a Maltese puppy for sale do you?

Yes, I (and my friends) are of a weird breed, we enjoy many different things here. I have a few more odd quirks but i'll leave those unsaid for another time. As far as the mixed DNA, I love it, though it does tend to keep me from having enough time in the day to do everything, so sleeping is always a good mediator so that one hobby is not getting more attention than the others.

As far as a Maltese puppy, no, I do have 3 beagles though. They make such wonderful rabbit dogs.

Aye, my last fellow (dog) was a Blue Tick/Beagle cross. He was gorgeous, and despite our attempts at training him for rabbit, his deer tendencies took precedent. To the point where he damn near flew through a patio screen once. But he has now passed on and I would like a fru fru dog to snuffle and snuggle.

I hear ya on the lack of time - gets a bit dicey for me around walleye season. Sleep or fish? Mondays fish, Tuesdays .. ahh hell, the wind is low, lets fish again

Yeah, beagles are indeed hard to train, they will run anything they can as long as they can chase it and bark at it. I have never seen a dog bark at a full moon as much as those three. I do enjoy to fish, but I must say I have never been walleye fishing, I mostly enjoy bass and catfish..fishing; it is quite odd adding fishing after the word catfish.

So what about yourself? I see that you indeed have the outdoor DNA covered, how about the geek side of things?

Yeah, it's covered. I'm a card carrying member of the geek elite. I take nerd to a new level where phone systems are concerned.

And after configuring BLAT today on 20 systems to get around the shitfest that is Microsoft Oulook 2003s "security enhancements", I feel I have every right to continue sipping this Bombay Sapphire and forget about my day job for another ... 7 hours

You should check out M$ 2007, it is even crappier. I make everyone at my office use Thunderbird, it's a lot better program. Just like I make them use firefox, they will conform to my IT ways or perish! *cough* Sorry, got carried away there. As far as phone systems at work, we use the VOIP company Altigen. Let me tell you, they are the suck .. though dont tell anyone at my work, they tend to like it.

I can trump you on the nerd level though, I will send it via PM, not sure I want to talk about where I work publically.

/agreed, Altigen is snarly. Wrote a parse file for Altigen data this afternoon though, but it was for a law firm not for ... well, not for your place of employment heh.

There is no need to have an edition war, since I play 2nd, 3rd, and 4th edition. So unless you are just a diehard 1E then we'll have no qualms.

Yeah, though mine isnt insomnia..I enjoy my sleep. I'm just a night owl, always have been. As far as geekdom, yes..I love being a geek. I feel that it keeps me young and going to stay the way I am.

I went to college here myself...what a coincidence! I'd ask where, and what for, but I think I've got the what for down, maybe the where would follow suit. And I should be completely honest...I don't suffer from insomnia, I mostly suffer from a recently complicated life that has been keeping me awake at night. Blah blah blah. I am not a gamer, but i do adore comics, Wonder Woman being my personal fav,and I enjoy the rest too.

You're right, I'd like to be shocked, so PM away if you'd like. I must warn you though, it will take a lot to shock me.

I understand the gaming life, and the gamer. Hell, I don't judge anyway and I appreciate people who know what they like. Makes life so much easier to live.

It's not that we, gamers, are a terrible lot. We just have a more imaginative world in our heads we live in. Plus we like to buy toys and gadgets! That's what I meant as far as understanding geeks goes..and that wasnt for you Wings..was mostly for those who are not quite sure about geeks.
