Chat apps?

So I have not used any chat stuff since the days of ICQ.

Since my wife passed almost 2 weeks ago, just looking for an avenues that were like the old ICQ days if there is still such a thing

Kik seems to be popular on Lit.

But really, anything will do. I have Facebook, IG, FetLife accounts in this name and all of them have DM features. FB and IG have both voice and video too, not just text. I wouldn't go around asking people from here to connect with them on IG as most use those as their real personal accounts, but if you are talking with someone on Lit in PMs and they don't want to go on Kik for some reason you can always suggest that they create a separate IG account so you could chat there.
