Charlie Robinson ("Night Court"'s Mac) dead at 75

That was the first "adult" sitcom I watched and loved it. Markie Post was hot AF and that old lady bailiff was hilarious.

Great guy on an iconic show. I liked how his character fit right in the cast even though he wasn't part of the initial season.

Breaking.

Prolific career.

Oh thank you so much for the notice....So sad as time is flying by... a very talented actor....One of my favorite shows that I always loved to watch & still do catch it on...Thank you very much again 😢

Absolutely - you're welcome.

It was one of my favorites too!

i miss liking night court, but there was no going back for me. it's best it remains a happy childhood memory as one of the few shows my dad made us watch that i actually remember laughing at.

Same here. Dad and I were always cracking up which was a nice break from him making me watch MASH reruns.

R.i.p.

So much of what made the show funny was the back and forth between him and Anderson. He will be missed.

.
I mostly remember Charlie Robinson as a supporting actor in films.

Night Court's initial airing happened to coincide with my breaking into the work force and killing the overtime, so I didn't have a chance to get into it.

After hearing all the positive reviews of the show, I may have to revisit it as a binge project.

RIP Charlie Robinson :rose:

Oh yeah he was great. Anderson actually turned down a regular role on Cheers. He liked the character the way it was.

The crazy thing about this had it ever come to fruition is that it would've been an "in TV sitcom universe" shuttling between two classic rivals, New York City and Boston. Woulda loved to see that, even as a novelty.

He wasn't? I knew that Markie Post wasn't on the first season (the woman who sang on Paradise by the Dashborad Lights was). I didn't realize Mac also came later.

They're doing a Night Court reboot. It's too bad he couldn't make an appearance now, he was always a good character on the show.
