Characters

I like shades of grey, although I feel I tend towards light greys. I think it's rare to have truly evil people. Selfish and misguided and ignorant people are much more common. What I really like, although I don't make them viewpoint characters, are characters with blue and orange morality, as described by TVTropes: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BlueAndOrangeMorality. Giving characters almost alien desires makes for interesting characters. I hope I captured a little of that with Kutensk and Maria in The Day the Earth Stood Nude...
