I'm having second thoughts about the characters about my story. So I have a college graduate having go with a promiscuous 18 year old high school senior who have two little brothers, age nine and five. The two little are NOT INVOLVED IN ANY SEX SCENES WHATSOEVER. THEY ARE STRICTLY FOR STORYLINE PURPOSES! NOTHING ELSE! Will Literotica reject my story if I submit it with characters that are under 18 but are not involved in any sex scenes?

Depends on what they do and what they see and hear when any sex is going on. We have folks here who don't seem to understand that arousal or "tingling" thoughts while on the periphery of sex going on or seeing sex (voyeurism) are sexual activity. It all depends on what you do with the characters.

I don't know how they flag content like this. I just had a story rejected where none of the characters are under 18 yet they said it contained sexual writing with someone under 18.

The only things I could find in the story were these two things:

1)The main character says to a woman (a married women, in her 30's ), something like "kid, you are one hot number but I can't go there" . If that was it, would be like rejecting Bogart saying to Ingrid Bergman "Here's look at you, kid"

2)In another scene, the description is "they were necking like two horny teenagers", the characters were a cheating wife and her boyfriend, both in their 40's.

I wonder if they are using some scanning software and are using that to flag things. unfortunately in my case it didn't say what the offending reference was, those were the only things I could find. The story itself doesn't have any direct sex scenes really.

Maybe it was because of the 'kid' quote. I'm not sure but that could be the only explanation. I read stories with words teenagers before and they're still online.

I just had a story post that initially was rejected for underage. I simply resubmitted it with the note that there was no underage sex in it and to please point to what was thought to be that. The story posted as written without any change. There are too many stories going through for them to be carefully read. If you don't have any underage sex in the story, all you have to do is what I did, and the story with either be posted or the underage sex parts will be pointed out to you.

My guess is a word bot scanner, and you've got two potential hits right there. Don't assume a human reader, not until the next submission.

You really do have to scrub through your text looking for word combinations that might go ping. Avoiding them is easiest or, knowing they're there, flag them explicitly in the Note to the Editor and point out the context = adult.

My latest has a baby in a push chair, when the protagonists meet in a cafe. I let Laurel know that baby was being looked after by Gran when the sex begins. No problems, through on the first pass.

Why do you feel it necessary to include them at all in a story for this site?

Basically as long as they are not obviously in a position to see or hear, whether accidentally or not and sexual activity then it should pass.

If for example they were in a corridor passing a closed bedroom where noisy sex was going on, it would not be accepted.

If they are an integral part of the story it should be fine, but I would add a note when submitting it so that it gets a more in depth look by Laurel and not just rejected by her search bot.

I ended up taking out both the kid and the teen references, was easy enough. But I'll remember that, to resubmit with a note.

One other question, I still have the one that was rejected sitting in the 'returned' folder. Is there any way to delete that? I basically resubmitted the story as a new story, it is pending, with the edits.

Good questions to which I don't have an answer. Similarly, I've got one in the draft folder that arrived there by accident and the story got posted otherwise. I can't figure out how to clear the draft folder.

Things to try:

Pull it up to edit, look for a trashcan icon somewhere.

Pull it up to edit and delete everything, then submit.

If no other way, pull it up to edit. Delete everything in the body and title, enter just the word 'Delete' in both and in the Note To Admin area, then submit.

I didn't think you can purge the submission form. Just use it for your next story - change the title, add all of the new story elements, proceed as if it were new. You should have used the same draft for your second go-around, but that's an easy mistake to make if it's all new.

It just seems boring to me to include the parents and the 18 year old daughter. I wanted to add new characters to give the story more dynamics and angles other than the scenes between the 18 year old girl and college graduate man.

Which isn't really a good reason to have to include underage characters in questionable circumstances in a story posted to an erotica site, right? If you don't have the imagination to work a plotline and character set to meet the parameters of the distribution vehicle, perhaps taking up golf or knitting would be a better activity to pursue.

I know the rules and I would never put underage characters in an erotica scenes. It was just a question I want to make sure. Well, guess I'm cutting out those characters and replacing them with new ones, age over 18.

The answer continues to be simple. If you're sure there isn't underage sex in it and it gets rejected, all you need do is send it back with a "there's no underage sex; please point it out if you think there is" note, and it will run as originally written. That's worked for me every single time. And I never had to post a question about it on the discussion board.

Thanks for the answer. When I'm done, submit it and comment to whoever judges the submissions that there is no underage sex, and it gets rejected for whatever reason, I can just change it.

My first story for Lit was full of kids. It can be hard to characterize someone as a parent if the kids are missing. I've used underage characters in as many as half my stories. I've never used a disclaimer and I've never had a problem with the site rejecting stories because of them.

YMMV.

Something else to keep in mind is that some readers may be uncomfortable with kids in an erotic story, regardless of their role.

I did read a story about a year ago or so, where there was a group of satanists who were offering up their daughter to the devil. The daughter at the time was underage, however the story went to go on that the devil didn't like this and killed the adults. years later, the same daughter, now over the legal limit, summons the devil and has intercourse with him
