Chapters, Parts, etc...

I'm getting ready to submit a story that has chapters but each submission as a couple or more chapters in and I really don't want to have: Story Name Ch. 01-03. It's the 01-03 thing that kind of bothers me and I was wondering other ways I can title it, besides submitting it as one whole story.

You could submit the story with Pt. ( for Part ) instead of Ch.

Good idea to put something in the "notes" section of the submission saying that you want it to remain as "Pt." and not be changed to "Ch.", because that's the default, and if you don't specify, it could get changed.

Each part can have as many chapters as you wish, and readers should follow along without any bumps in the road.

Laurel's default is to change any single digit number identifications to 01, etc. Same as adding or changing anything to "Ch." if you have a number designation in there.

Did that for mine from the beginning, and usually catches when I goof it up to correct it.

Of course, she does make mistakes sometimes. Never hurts to get it right the first time.

I did this with one of my series. I made the titles in alphabetical order, so they sort and come up in the correct order on the story page.

Two Moms, Two Laps, Two hours (original story, exception to the alphabet rules)
Two Moms, Two Laps, Home Rules
Two Moms, Two Laps, Innocence Lost
Two Moms, Two Laps, Laying Penny
Two Moms, Two Laps, Movie Night
Two Moms, Two Laps, Old Wounds (done, not posted)
Two Moms, Two Laps, Quiet Storm (done, not posted)
Two Moms, Two Laps, Ruin (currently writing)
Two Moms, Two Laps, ???

I make sure I enter in the comment that it's part of the series. I make sure the beginning of the story comments mentions which chapter this is in the story. I still get crap from readers that they gave me a 1 star, because I didn't mention it was a chapter story. I think most readers like the Ch.0X note to let them know what they're getting into.
