chapters all out of order...

Can anyone advise me? The last chapter (no. 15) of my novel Harriet Learns to Smoke & Fuck has just been published, but it has appeared in the wrong place, i.e. out of order, on both my list of works: https://www.literotica.com/my/#/works/stories/published, and on my table of contents: https://www.literotica.com/series/se/494312805. I can see why: it seems to be because of a missing fullstop (period) and space in the titles of chapters 11-14 - but not 15 - as they have appeared once published. I submitted all the chapters with the same title formatting, but some of them seem to have been changed in the moderation process. Is this something I can fix myself? Or should I contact Laurel directly? Thanks!

You can fix it yourself by switching the series to manual ordering, or by submitting a title change request, if you like.

You're right. I was looking at the numbering of the stories, not the chapter titles.

it's definitely because all the previous chapters up to 10 were titles "Ch. 10" then with 11 are "Ch11" without the period-space. 15 reverts to the earlier form. A PM to Laurel should take care of it.

Yes, @GrushaVashnadze you need to get those chapter titles into a consistent format. The site's auto-chaptering mechanism runs on an alphanumeric sequence, and your inconsistency has thrown it out of order.

Quickest way might be to resubmit the offending chapters as an Edit, with a note explaining what you're doing, to get the Ch.xx consistent. That will place the issue in front of Laurel - a PM might not be as effective.

When I was writing a series, I was paranoid about exactly this. I think I checked each new submission about four times to make sure it was consistent.

@ElectricBlue & @Voboy, it wasn't my inconsistency: it was absolutely consistent when I submitted it. The website started to change the formatting from chapter 11 onwards - which was not a problem as at least the chapters stayed in the correct order on any lists. It's only become a problem with chapter 15, which seems to have reverted to the original formatting. I have sent Laurel a PM. I will also submit an edit on chapter 15 and see what happens.

No reply to the PM, and the story edit is no longer pending, so presumably she has seen it, and thinks it has been dealt with. However, I am still left in the position where chapter 15 is still out of order on these two pages:

So, problem still not solved. Does anyone have any other ideas? Or do I just give up?

It might sort itself out once it's published and the auto-chaptering algorithm has run. From what I've seen, it runs daily, but on a different cycle to stories being published. So it might take 24 or 48 hours to settle.
