Changing User Name

You'll have to contact Laurel, the site editor, directly via the PM system (private message system, upper right on this page).

Laurel can be found in some of the "sticky" threads at the top of the forum.

There are two ways.

One is by sending a Private Message directly to Laurel, as the posters above me said. Before doing that, go to the main website and search for members who might be using the same username you're vying to use.

If none exist, only then send Laurel a Private Message on this template:

Hi Laurel,

I wish to change my username from girlwholoveserotica to _________. I've checked the entire website and found no one else with that username. I'll be very grateful if you could change my username.

Your custom sig.

I don't charge much. It's only $7.5/₤5 per template. I only accept payments through Paypal, or you can send me a gift voucher, whichever is convenient.

Just kidding. :D

The second method is by submitting an application through the story site. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to blurt out info like that in the open, but feel free to contact me in private if the above method doesn't work. It should work, as it has for three other people I know.

Good luck.

Frankly, I'd have thought it easier to invent a new name and register it in the usual way.
Then simply dump the old one.

But then you lose all the posts/stories you've published.

But if you don't care about the posts and don't have any stories published, then that would be the easiest method.

Once you have done that you could always PM Laurel to delete the old account.

I know Lynn did it, went from Mistress Lynn to just Lynn and she kept her story page

But my thought would be the fan base, how do they know to look for you and....do your favs transfer to the new name? If you're someone with hundreds or thousands of favs it would suck to go back to zero

I would bet that all those are tied to a ID number, not the actual name. At least that would have been what I did when the database was originally created. There would have been a file that had the name in it as a data point, but the file was keyed to an ID number.

That way the changing of the name would be simple, just change it in one file and it would automatically filter down through the system.

I suppose the fan base could be an issue when changing names but I didn't have any trouble.

Quote someone and look at the number after the name. You're 69364379. :D
