I am working on a story that'll follow four main characters. The introduction will split into four threads, each giving an introduction to one of the main characters, and then act as the beginning of their respective story lines.
I'm thinking that the characters will come together at various points in the story. I think that some of those can probably be handled by simply having the threads follow one character exclusively, and that any other of the main characters who appears will simply be treated as any other supporting characters in the story.
The problem is that I'm thinking that there will be points where I'd want to have options to follow either one or another character. Like having a story line for character A, who then meets character B at a party, and then there would be options to read about what happens to either A or B at the story, and if B is chosen, to shift the point of view away from A, who had until that moment been the point of view character of that story line?
Am I restricting myself in dedicating each of the original story lines to the point of view of one character, or am I seeing problems where there aren't any?
I'm not that experienced at creating stories yet, so I'm not sure if what I have planned will work, or if it will seem confusing and illogical.
