Change it how?

It's always been alphabetical.

There is some talk that you might be able to change it to show by date in the new author's control panel.

Just looked at the new authors page...it's doesn't have a way to sort the stories list as yet. They do have it broken up as Published, Drafts, Pending and Sent Back as well as having a main grouping as My Stories, My Poems and My Artwork.

The new page also list the number of stories you have and total number of followers you have.

Of course they could be adding stuff as we speak.

No way to tell though.

I think the sort option was one suggested by most of the people doing the beta work.

I heard that, but as any of us in the software development industry know all those suggestions will be included in Version 2.0 of the current product. The current release of the product is 1.5 and everyone just quit to go work at Microsoft.

Hi, is there a way to change the listed order of stories on the author page list of stories?

Only by editing the titles so that they appear as part of a series e.g. I have several stories based on the Planet Tripletit so if I retitled them

Tripletit Part 01 First encounter
Tripletit Part 02 Saving the Planet
etc.

They would appear in order instead of alphabetically.

If you have several stories you want sorted out and linked together the easiest way is to send a PM to Laurel asking if she can do the title changes for you.

The downside is that if anyone had favorited or bookmarked them the link would no longer work.

A suggestion I read in a thread some time ago was to title your stories alphabetically, either starting your first story with Z words and working backwards so your newer stories are at the top, or starting with A stories and working the other way so your newer stories are at the bottom of the list.

How many letters in the alphabet? I have 238 stories. See the problem? Not to mention not many people are wired tight enough to make that all work. And then there are the stories that not just any title will fit. Nice idea but not very practical in the long run.;)

A simple way around that would be to title your stories starting with a numeral. If you used four (or five) digits you could interleave them:

0001 Jane
0002 Jane Again
0003 Teresa and Jane

0010 Mary
0011 Mary Again

0020 Fred meets Sophie
0021 Sophie kicks Fred Out

And so on

I'm content with alphabetical order. đź‘ đź‘ đź‘ Kant đź’‹
Don't sweat the small stuff.

But the thing is, that all the other site allow you to change the order of your works. I go to Smashwords, Kindle Store, etc. I get to chose a different ordering. But that's only after it has been listed in the default which is different at each site. Kindle is Date Modified, Smashwords is Date Published (low to high)...and so on.
