well actually the boat was named after the people here in Nova Scotia, We were called that long before the first Bluenose was built.

I know the ones that you mean , but when you look back at the history of fishing in Nova Scotia, the fishermen were called Bluenosers for over a hundred years and then when they built the bluenose to race the americans they just gave it that name in honor of the fisherman.
