Traditionally, the electorate has been unwilling to change leaders in the midst of a national crisis. They'd rather stick with the devil they now. Nothing is "traditional" anymore.

When the "leader" is making the National Crisis worse the people have a way ferreting that out.

I think we can do just fine changing mid-stream in this situation. Cut our losses, and start cleaning up the mess, very similar to what we had to do in 2008.

.
If the horse you never really wanted to be on in the first place is doing everything in its power to drown you then yeah, it's worth making a jump to a new horse.

The current horse is on fire and stampeding up the bleachers.

And he's gone around the bend. Fuckin' horse can find the stream, and he's crapping all over the place.

Bush Jr. used that horses midstream trope to get re-elected in 2004, during the Iraq War. Then the economy tanked. As he said, “fool me once, shame on, shame on you; fool me, you can’t get fooled again.”

When the leader is the cause of the national crisis it's different.

Think pleasant thoughts. Think Mussolini.

Including that tradition. Trump has changed all of the traditions. Most likely that one, as well.

Did y'all get out in the real world and put as much effort into getting Biden elected as you have put in here where all your efforts are completely wasted? Holy Jesus Christ, it's like choir practice in here.

Yes, much much more!

The devil they know

Well Joe has been horsing around and making sick racist comments for almost 50 years. So no doubt that explains why some want to get back to the good old corrupt swamp creature horse that fucks up the economy and make horrible trade deals so that he and his sick family members can get rich the Washington way.

What is that etiquette as it applies to leaders who have exacerbated a national crisis?
