Hi. Has the Search function changed recently? I used to be able to search for all Most Popular stories in a selection of categories, but now it won’t search unless there’s a search term.

Use "new" as search term, without the ", of course. Worked like a champ. Your welcome.:D

I'm having same issue, I used to search for all stories since my last login but now a search term is required. Using "new" as stated above will only show stories with that word in it. Please turn off the search term requirement again.

just put a character space in the main search field

Hi NightOwl good catch! A search across all story categories with only a space as the search string finds 10,116 stories. With "the" as the search string you get 10084 stories.

Interesting that there are 32 stories out there that don't have word "the" in them :) Seems unlikely that you could have a 750 word+ story without word "the" in it, but I think out of 10,000+ stories it's perhaps believable.

I don't know why in the world they made this change to search, I really wish an admin would explain.

Used to be able to search by the category (gay, mind control, mature) for the latest stories posted. Now I cannot search by category is this just a technical bug that will be cleared up?

Seriously guys, I get that there are workarounds, in particular using"new" as the search term, or a space. But you need to either restore the full functionality or include a "More New Lesbian Stories" etc link in each category page, similar to the more random link. Because your "New" Stories section is too damn short unless you visit every day, and even more often in a few categories.

I used to be able to quickly browse through my fav categories quite easily, and then if it it had been longer that a couple of days since I browsed a particular category I could go to "Search", check that category, pick one week or one month, and order by date descending and get a "new stories" page for that category that covered the span of time since I had last been online.

The main category page simple does NOT support that.

I get not wanting to run a full search on everything, ie if I hadn't selected a category and/or a limited date range. But doing that should allow you to search without entering any dummy terms in the search text box.

Perhaps require either one week or one month, or no more than say five categories, or if already filtering by date, allow up to 10 categories without a specific search term.

Regardless, something other than just a "search term" has to meet the minimum requirement to enable search or the search page becomes much more of a pain to use, and a lot of "new" stories will get missed.

Thanks.

PS: Regardless of fixing the search page, you really should have a "More New" link in each category page that pulls in say the last 14 days.

Sorry for the update. :D

The search is not expected to work with a blank search term, that was a bug and it was causing some issues for the site.

The new Category Hubs show 7 days worth of stories if you go here with BETA turned on:
https://www.literotica.com/beta/c/erotic-couplings/new-erotic-couplings/1-page

Registered and unregistered users can use the BETA. Just click the "Click Here To Preview" button on the Classic category hub.

The Category Hub still has several issues that we are working on, but the New by Category page should work. If you have any trouble with it, please let us know.

Thank you. :D

If you consider it a bug, and it was causing issues, ok. Fair enough. However I personally don't consider a date based search of either one week or one month a blank search term. Especially when combined with one to several specific categories.

I'm not asking you to support blank searches. I'm asking you to re-consider the definition of blank searches. I honestly don't see now a date range search, especially in combination with one or more categories, can be any more "blank or demanding on the site than s search for say "lesbian" with no other criteria.

Also, the new stories page leaves a lot to desired since you have to scrol just to get to actual stories links.

Thanks for listening either way.
