Mine can taste salty especially if I've been holding it for a while. But if I drink lots of water it's less so.

spicey foods and alcohol can change the taste too, making it more acidic. and by all means, avoid asparagus!

While I have never drank anyones pee, I think in knowing what the kidneys do and some simple human physiology that it will be more or less salty depending on how concentrated your urine is. If it appears clear, it should be less salty, amber in color, more salty. Could be worse, you could drink it after eating asparagus and have it smell bad in addition to the saltyness.
