Here is how it works.

1. I post 6 lines of a mystery poet's poem

2. You read carefully (no cheating) and try to think if it sounds familiar... feel free to post impressions, guesses etc...

3. Take the poll which will contain the names of several poets, choose the poet you think wrote the 6 lines.

If you are one of the poets who are in the poll, feel free to vote, but puhlease if it is your poem, just fake it okay? You know, just pick C, it is the most used multiple choice letters)

4. I will give more lines if needed Sunday.

5. Answer will be given on Monday.

6. If it seems like a fun thing to do, I will repeat with new poem and poets next Wed. again.

Lather, rinse, repeat. Conditioner optional, but kind of slippery and fun.

~~~
Can you guess this poet in 6 lines???
She, sheltered, box-bound
tied to her post
takes their coats
hanging hook by hook
their loud histories,
but watching only him
She, sheltered, box-bound
tied to her post
takes their coats
hanging hook by hook
their loud histories,
but watching only him
Intrigued by that handlebar
moustached mouth
and the way he watches her
differently
from her big browns
all the way south
Note: Choices of the first round starting with some of the long time red-hot literotica Mama's.... and of course a new batch of poets each week (with their permission of course)
now this could be fun..rather easy for someone who's read their poetry awhile.
rather difficult for newbies like me though.
fun idea, how do you all come up with this stuff?
:p
come on newbie,
pick a letter any letter just do it,
it'll make you
feel good
feel good
feel good
feel good
feel good
:)
these ideas come from sheer procrastination to write anything or do anything in particular that should be done.
:)
I hope you post lots of poems so I can grab one for the challenge soon :rose: :rose:
come on now vote, I wanna see if it works
I love this idea :p
Im a registered voter honey, eheh, and exorcise my evil rites muwaaahahah
This is WONDERFUL, anna! :D
You think you know someone's writing, until you're given choices .
Funny coincidence...
I was discussing this very subject with another poet just the other day- about how each poet has a signature style.
This thread should be very enlightening on that subject.
Funny- I thought I knew who this poet was right away, and voted without hesitation. Now, after reading those six again, I'm not so sure. What fun!
Thanks, anna :cool:
"Box-bound" and "their coats hanging hook by hook" sound like Eve, but I don't really think she would say "their loud histories" or "watching only him".
Could be Maria or Tristesse...
Blah. I'm still going to go with Eve. :D
I went Perks.
Don't ask me why, but after her hyperchallenge poem, I've found her to be very desciptive.
Just my two bobs. Could be wrong :D
Where's tarablackwood's name?
I'd know her work in less.
hold yer horses, Tara was not born yet. She was still floating in some poets amniotic fluid sucking in extra poet juice waiting for her arrival here :) and there are plenty of weeks to get everyone :)
I think it's "early" Eve. :confused:
"Early Eve" was my impression too. The thing that made me hesitate was that Eve has already deleted all of early stuff, so Anna would have had to had gone somewhere else to find "Early Eve". Maybe some art auction, or ebay. :)
me say eve ;)
But I'm probably wrong, I'm not good at these games. I have a hard time figuring out new names that match the old names of Litsters who take on another pseudonym.
Maybe 6 more lines would be helpful?
would you and tara stop calling it early eve. it's making me feel old.
I'm hopeless at hearing the poets voice if the piece is anonymous.
My guess is Maria.
P.S - great idea anna.
damn woman, you are so gross!!! hee hee, my kids would have said, oh god, mama, thats soo nasty, but I find that post inspiring :)
my maw fed me poet juice and for some odd reason, Eve and I are associated so strongly with boxes, why is that Eve? I have apoem called in a box, but...I aint sayin nothing else, I have a sand poem to distill from the passion thread :rose:
poet juice ( sitll giggling, gurgling, guzzling down that poet juice, ih hell, you ruined me for the day) is that anything like a juicy poet? :p
