Congrats. ^_^ And can I propose we drop the anonymous aspect of the contest? With only 4 or 5 entries it's usually easy to guess which is whose anyway. If there isn't anonymity, then the host could always participate and we could all comment on each others' pictures without waiting for the end of the week.

ok, by me.

should VOTES be anonymous? (as they are currently), because there IS the option to make voters visible.

Do you think there are people who would refuse to vote because it wasn't anonymous?

One thing I do think is important is that artists should not specifically request people to vote for their piece, only to vote in the contest. Openness is good but turning the voting into a political campaign would be crappy.

There are every kind of people. Of course some will not vote for that reason.
and likley people will always try to campaign for their own.

But we should TRY and set up the best/mots fair challenges that we can.

Well, some of us more established artists here already know of the others' specific styles, so even though the anonymous entries may be redundant, it still adds a certain attractive air of mystery. However, if it were to be dropped entirely, it's not a huge deal. There are also new members coming into the mix to be considered, too, so there is that surprise element that keeps things lively.

I think the anonymous voting should be kept running, though. Just to keep things completely off the partisan cliquish radar. Knowing who voted for what doesn't make for good bar socials and bedfellows later on, unfortunately.

What I'd really like is to see people commenting on the pieces, not just voting. So, consider me in favor of any policy change that would encourage that. ;)

My 2¢

I commented on most of the 'Pen' entries? but not many others did, I dont have a problem with the artists being known, I know which ones are "ours", But the average voters don't, Shrug, I think it's going ok. But the voting should be kept anon, I know some that wouldnt vote if there name was public.

Congrats! Irez! Heh Heh close one!

I'd rather keep the anonymity...its part of the fun and "suspense"

i have to confess that this word had me plotting out dirty scenarios in my head.

hehehehehe

I immediately thought of the common fanfiction challenge the "blanket scenario" (two characters not in a relationship, bad weather or their clothes otherwise getting ruined, only one blanket they have to share). I've enjoyed reading several of those, but I wanted to brainstorm more, so I had to shoo that thought away before I could think of anything different.

I struggle with the *word* on most of these challenges, but some odd reason I have beach blanket bingo in mind. Shoo! Frankie and Annette! Hahaha, so a perversion of the word... maybe...

i was trying to figure out how i could get a nude woman into my freezing studio to paint in wrapped up in a blanket.
i think booze and dinner would make a good lure.

that and i thought of pigs in a blanket.... maybe some naked GBers wrapped tightly, then placed on a plate and served warm.

i need to keep thinking!

Space heater? lol

Space heater? lol

i know! i need one! i have a propane space heater, but i can't use it in the studio because of combustible materials. i don't want my studio blowing up like a backyard meth lab. i need to go to Sam's or Lowe's, and soon!

got. intial crude sketch done.... now a "final" sketch...on to rendering........ but will have to wait until next week, when I have a bit of privacy.

yay.... unfortunately I will probably not be able to participate in this challenge too...:(

cant wait to see what everyone is creating!

I have had a rather harassed week - finally picked up a programmer for my video game, which is great :D but means I spent almost a full day writing up the design and on top of that I have to package up all the existing art and email it to him, and make new art for the GUI since that to some extent needs to be programmed first. So, I regret that I won't be submitting anything this week or probably next week either. :(
