Blue states that have repeatedly imposed mask mandates, vaccine requirements, and lockdowns over the last year have lost population to red states that have done away with such policies.

Newly released data from the United States Census Bureau reveals that while blue states like California and New York have increasingly lost population from July 2020 to July 2021, red states such as Texas and Florida have seen population increases.

Domestic migration out of California, New York, and Illinois were the largest of all 20 states and Washington, D.C. that saw population decreases as a result of residents moving out of state.

Out of the top 10 states and territories with the most population decline from July 2020 to July 2021, eight are run by either Democrat legislatures or Democrat governors, or both. Of the top 10 states with the most population growth in the last year, nine are run by Republican governors and Republican-majority legislatures.

lol I can promise that not over a half a million people moved from blue to red states because of your imaginary "lockdown states."

Does the right wing media even care about the truth and due diligence anymore? Did they ever?

IIRC, the total is 700,000, but it's so hard to disaggregate those that moved becaue of the draconian lockdowns s those who moved because of the stratospheric taxes vs those who moved because of the skyrocketing crime, so you have a point.

Why did people in that same time frame move from red states? You'll make a point one day but today isn't that day.

I very much doubt disease-containment measures play much part in anyone's decision to relocate.

Quite often Rotodom converts wishful thinking into statements of fact.

Who knows? Maybe they like being told what to do, somehting they can find in abundance in the clench-fisted tyrannies of the Blue. All we know is 700k more people preferred liberty, low taxes and low crime to the alternative.

Show me the facts. :)

You assume they all moved to red states. You just are not very bright.

Of course, you would. But based on your judgment of doubt and record for a lack of veracity, it's highly likely it did play a major part in their decision to leave.:D:rolleyes:

His ASSumption is no less credible than yours, Bud's, or the thread starter. Or Breitbart. None of you know WHY people moved and none of you can explain why people left red states in that same time period. But hey, you said something.

Not all, obviously. But there was a net exfiltration from blue and a net infiltration to red, with Texas and Florida leading the gainers and NY and California bleeding citizens.

Like MSNBC, CNN, NY Times, WAPO are stalwarts of objective journalism. LMFAO

First, the census was politically manipulated this last time, so no telling what is true on that. Second, it's great if blue state people are moving to red states. That's what's needed to bring balance to the Electoral College system. That would create at least purple states.

Well, if the EC goes the way of Virginia blue shitholes will be irrelevant, standing on a political Titanic while positioning deck chairs holding their nose on the way down to Davy Jones’s locker.

There's one thing for sure. CA is losing a Congressional seat as a result of a massive flight from the state. All of CA's surrounding states is seeing former citizens applying for and taking up residency.

Everyone knows lockdowns and vaccination and mask mandates are temporary measures. A decision to move to another state is something that will affect your life for decades to come.

And bringing their blue politics with them.

And they will turn those states blue. Even the Republicans among the migrants are California Republicans in the mold of Schwarzenegger -- Commies by Texas standards.

And bringing their blue politics with them.

I thnk it's a quote form Evelyn Waugh: "In 1945, Mary Prescott voted a straight Socialist ticket. Then, having done her best to make England uninhabitable, she moved to France."

No facts just Breitbart baiting you simpletons :(

Did you think your link was about Covid migration or even mention Covid? I mean it is the damn topic.

California is still the most populated state in the Union.
